Chapter 21: History with a Devil and the Crow

   Upon the 2nd day of the auction, 2 Sin Vessels are auctioned. Old eyeglasses which were acquired by the noble Eric Wheelsman from the Roan Kingdom and another sin vessel were acquired by the 4th Prince Pen. The second sin vessel item to be auctioned is a Mage Robe.

After the auction, Allen and Gavin returned to the inn where they were renting a room and staying. Allen was already plotting several plans to steal the sin vessels from their hands. Also, the explanation that Lady Marie Annette told him was uneasy.

{ You don't think that the sin vessels are just lying around, don't you? Accumulating dust and staying in one place? pfff... Don't make me laugh, Prince Allen! People have used us in the past. Allen paused for a moment before correcting himself.

Sateriasis is the name of the Duke of Lust's brother. The one that he assumed identity. Along with the other sin vessel users back in his world of the 3rd period, Sickle has made him watch their history and memories.

{ Is it the same? From what I remember, Cherubim's Venomania's descendants are afflicted with the curse of lust. }

{ It's good that you understand. Descendants of the Sin Vessel users from the past would have a very high affinity to the sin vessels that their ancestors used. They would be easily enthralled by the demon inside the sin vessel and be corrupted because of affinity. }

The matter with the Sin Affliction is a trouble for Allen. He would not know how would the sin vessel affect Eric Wheelsman if he let it just the sin vessel stay with the noble for the meantime.

If there would be trouble or victims if Allen just let it fester...

Seeing the troubled look on Allen's face while he pondered, Gavin asked.

" Prince Alexis, is something troubling you? "

Looking at Gavin, Allen responded.

" A Sin Vessel being in Eric Crossman's hands would be dangerous the longer that it lasts with him. At the same time, I want to also prioritize the other Sin Vessels which would be acquired by the people from other kingdoms. "

Smiling slightly, Gavin replied.

" Do what you think is right, Prince. "

After all, he wasn't the expert on these things. It was Prince Alexis who was chosen to carry out very important tasks by the Sun God. To retrieve all of the objects of malice to destroy or seal them, was Prince's Alexis purpose.

Gavin was only glad that he was helping Prince Alexis in carrying such a grand and noble task unknown to most people in this world. Prince Alexis has found him and saved his life. He would be happy to help Prince Alexis in every way he can.

" We would get the sin vessel from Prince Pen after the 3rd Auction. If we lose on the bid on the 3rd sin vessel tomorrow, and it is acquired again by a person from another kingdom, we will steal it from them. "

" Yes, Prince Alexis. I would gladly follow along with your orders. "

Removing his disguise, Allen smiled.

Allen says as he lies on the bed, staring at the ceiling for a moment and closing his eyes. Gavin watched his prince instantly drifting to sleep. A smile forms on his face.

Since the day that Allen saved him, encountered him, and told him of the mission granted to him by the Sun God, Gavin noticed that the Prince had been traveling around the Roan Kingdom. Searching everywhere for the traces of the Sin Vessels.

Gavin was glad that Prince Alexis had been granted a noble grand task by the Sun God. At the same time, he couldn't help but worry.

Gavin felt sometimes that Prince Alexis only existed for the sole purpose of finding the sin vessels. Since the day that he was cured by the Sun God who helped him with his mental distress and trauma (Prince Alexis has told him), he has continuously searched for the sin vessels.

A brief smile appeared on Gavin's face when he noticed the Prince forgetting to take off his boots and his outer clothes. Approaching the Prince, Gavin helped him take off his boots and unbutton the vest that the Prince wore. No protest could be heard from the Prince. Only the sound of breathing while sleeping.

After removing the vest and boots, Gavin wondered if he should open the window. For the night air to come in and cool the room but decided against it. Right now with Prince Alexis and him being undisguised, Gavin would watch and guard the prince while he sleeps. If the worst outcome would happen and someone would discover Prince Alexis' identity and proceed to tattle it, with no hesitation,  Gavin would kill anyone.

Glancing at his hand, Gavin gazes at the golden ring placed on his left ring finger. It is a gift given to him by the Prince on the day that he was saved. Removing the ring from his ring finger, Gavin experiences a sensation of pain on his back before one lone black wing emerges from his back.

" R-Riliane.... "

Gavin approached Prince Alexis. Sitting on the bed and enveloping the Prince within his lone wing.

" It's alright, Prince. It's only a nightmare. "

He whispers comforting the sleeping prince. Once Prince Alexis woke up, Gavin would prepare his preferred food and drink. Requesting the inn's owner to use their kitchen.

Closing his eyes, Gavin was in a half-sleep and half-awake state for the whole time until Allen woke up from his sleep and noticed Gavin enveloping him with his lone wing and body.

" Thank you, Gavin. "

Yawning, Gavin replied.

" Don't worry about it... Prince... "

Leaving the bed, Gavin stretched his arms, legs, and wings before wearing the golden ring once again on his left ring finger. The Wing disappeared. Gavin left the room and prepared breakfast for the prince.

After eating breakfast together with Allen's insistence, they left the inn and prepared for the last day of the auction.
