lacuna
☆day 1, today marks the start of the first month the ito siblings planned to have you have closure for suna again; since you're bandmates now.
you and suna were in two different corners of the studio, practicing your guitars by yourselves for the gig in three months. you never really spoke to him— if you did, you'd end up glaring at him.
you only spoke with either kaito or aoki for help and that's pretty much it. nothing to expect there.
day 7, a week has passed, and nothing new— you both minded your own business, either practiced by yourselves or with kaito or aoki. "i don't see progress." aoki said in a low voice to her brother as they both look at the two seventeen-year-olds.
"give them a bit more time." kaito said as the siblings looked away from you two. "you really won't tell me your plan if they don't end up having closure by themselves?" she asked as she sat on her drum throne.
"no," but in all honesty, kaito does not have any idea how yet.
day 9, coincidentally, you and suna both arrived at the studio building at the same time making you annoyed. you slowed down your pace, making him walk in front of you at a distance.
soon, he both arrived at the door first, opening it as he waited for you to enter— it kind of became a habit when he's around you, you know. you were on your phone before you entered the door, "i can open it myself, suna." you annoyingly looked at him before fully walking in the studio.
the ito siblings looked at each other as they witnessed your short interaction with suna. "see, progress." kaito said making aoki deadpan. "you call that progress?" she asked, looking at you both go onto your separate corners.
"it's only been a few days, they'll eventually warm up to each other."
day 15, no progress. at all. you haven't interacted since day nine and you only had fifteen more days to make closure with suna. "warm up to each other, huh?" aoki nudges her brother, "give the-" she cuts of kaito, "we have like half a month left and i'm not seeing any progress."
"yeah, yeah, i'll wait until day twenty, if they seriously don't, then we'll force them to, okay?" she skeptically looked at him, "sure."
day 20, no new, still no progress. almost a month and still no closure between you and suna. aoki looked at kaito, signaling him to do whatever his idea was. he cleared his throat and called both you and suna over to him.
"so, almost a month since we've been together, huh. have you both practiced together?" neither of you spoke but you slowly shook your head. kaito inhaled, "how about practicing your 'hysteria cover' together starting today, yeah?"
you glance at him, "do we have to?" you ask making kaito hum in response. "i practiced at home." suna said, "i practiced at home too!" you said competitively, as if you didn't want to be seen as lazy because you actually didn't practice the song that much.
"oh good, can we maybe hear you play together?"
you glanced at the brown-haired boy before proceeding to get your bass. when you both played the song, it sounded... off. it had a tad bit of harmony but overall it just doesn't sound.. it.
suna was a little late and you were a bit too fast.
there was practically no chemistry between your bass and his electric guitar and it definitely needed practice. together. "hmm, it sounds.. okay? there was harmony but it sounded off. consider practicing together, yeah?"
you irritatingly glanced at him as soon as you heard "practice together" because there is no way in hell you're practicing with him without dissing him off. once kaito walked away from you, you turned to suna. "you were too slow you couldn't keep up with me." you glared at him.
"what? i think you were too fast which is why i couldn't keep up with you." he was definitely not used to being mean to you— he just wanted to be a teensy bit mean since you were mean to him.
your eyes widened as he argued back, "i thought you practiced at home? guess you didn't, you don't even know the exact tempo of the song." you glared at him harder.
'do i glare back? i feel guilty if i have to..' suna mused as he looked down on you. "whatever." he walked away, back to his usual corner of the studio. 'whatever? whatever???' as you were about to diss him off, he turned to you again.
"aren't you going to follow so we can practice?"
'huh?' your gaze became a tad bit soft as you stared at him in surprise. you cleared your throat and grabbed your bass, "don't tell me what to do." you softly muttered as you walked towards him. suna's gaze softened and subconsciously smiled a little as he saw you walk toward him.
kaito and aoki looked at each other as they saw your interaction, "see? progress."
