for the past few days, you've been ignoring suna because you felt awkward and guilty now that you know what actually happened. you made a bunch of different excuses to not practice with him during practice days; hell even in texts.
the brown-haired boy was confused by your actions— thinking if he had done something again for you to ignore him again. he tried asking why you were clearly ignoring him in every chance he'd gotten but you would always find an excuse to push him away every single time.
today is finally the day of the gig, you were tuning your bass, kaito was fixing the mic stand, aoki was testing her drums. suna, on the other hand, glanced at you every second he could get. honestly, he misses your glare at this point, he really doesn't know why you're ignoring him.
"we're starting in five minutes!" kaito exclaimed. standing up, suna walks up to you, "y/n," you look up at him, your eyebrow raised. "good luck." he said as a small smile formed on your lips, "thanks, you too." you look away from him and back to your bass. that was your first conversation today and you've been together for almost two hours.
you all stood in your respective positions before the curtains opened. you hear a lot of noises coming from the opposite side of the curtain. "opening in 3, 2," your heart was racing as suna glanced at you for the last time, "1!"
as soon as the curtains opened, fans screamed. "what's up, lvrs?!" kaito exclaimed as the sea of fans roared in excitement. your eyes skimmed the whole crowd, looking for ume. "today's gig will be slightly different; our newest members will be performing the song that impressed us during the auditions so all eyes on them, lvrs!"
when your eyes landed on a familiar figure, you smiled excitedly as a pool of eyes looked and cheered for you and suna. "we know ya hate hearing my yapping so let's go! y/n?" the light that was shining on stage suddenly disappeared. kaito whispered at you, signaling to start the song.
you breathed out and started strumming, a light was shined on you as you strummed your bass perfectly. camera's and eyes were all set on you as you strummed every string. suna glanced at you before his cue and it was soon followed by him with his electric guitar and aoki with her drums. another light shined on him and the drummer.
it was perfect; you were both in harmony and in timing. you weren't too fast and suna wasn't too slow. it made people's heads bopping already and it was just the intro.
kaito followed with his vocals as you continued strumming your bass. you could feel dozens of eyes on you, including suna but you never noticed and focused on your performance.
he would glance at you every time he didn't have to strum his electric guitar yet, admiring you as performed— you looked so beautiful. he even noticed a small smile was resting on your face as you played the bass.
the song soon ended and the crowd erupted in cheers making you sigh in relief as if you were holding your breath for a long time. you stared at the crowd looking at you, cheering you making you subconsciously look at suna who was already looking at you.
he gave you a small smile making you look away, flustered and slightly blushing. 'why is he smiling at me?' you mused as look at the crowd again. 'wait, am i flustered over that?!' you slightly glanced at him again, his gaze not leaving your figure yet making you look away again.
the night was still young.
your band played more songs for the past hour and soon, the night ended. after waving the crowd goodbye, you all went backstage. "how was your first gig?" aoki nudged you as you set your bass down.
"surreal. it was my first time performing in front of a crowd!" although you were tired, you managed to excitedly tell the drummer about your experience.
before you could leave from the live house, suna walked beside you making you look at him as you tuck a strand of hair. "you performed well." he said as he opened the door for you. before you could respond, you were greeted by a crowd, mostly girls, who stayed behind to wait for you.
loud squeals and cheering greeted you and the boy beside you making your eyes widen. you muttered a small 'whoa' making him glance at you and chuckle. he put his hand behind you, leading you as the crowd continued to cheer you both. kaito and aoki soon followed you both who received the same amount of cheers.
this was a night you that will never forget.
