She's become this unexpected part of me, and I don't even know how to make sense of it. Allura sat gracefully upon the platform, her regal demeanor tempered by the palpable concern etched across her features. She glanced at her sister Lunarae, who sat beside her, equally troubled. The ambient light of the castle created a warm, soothing glow, reflecting off the intricate, metallic patterns that adorned the walls. The quiet hum of the ship's machinery provided a constant background, a reminder of their ever-present journey through the vastness of space.
"There's no point in debating this further. Zarkon is clearly tracking us through me," Allura stated, her voice carrying a note of frustration, yet remaining composed. Her words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of the implications.
Lance, leaning against a nearby console with his trademark nonchalance, scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Aww, space baloney," he retorted, dismissively waving a hand.
Pidge adjusted her glasses with a thoughtful expression, her mind already racing through possible explanations. "That's not possible," she declared, her tone firm with conviction.
Allura's eyes swept over the assembled paladins, her gaze settling on each of them in turn. "Why would that be so hard to believe? Zarkon's forces showed up on Arus only after I awoke," she pointed out, her voice tinged with a mixture of frustration and urgency.
Lance, arms crossed over his chest and a contemplative look on his face, nodded slowly. "She's got a point," he conceded, the gears visibly turning in his mind. But never one to miss an opportunity for levity, he flashed a flirtatious grin. "I would absolutely travel across the galaxy to find you," he added, attempting to lighten the mood with his characteristic charm.
A soft, deliberate clearing of the throat drew everyone's attention to Keith, who stood slightly apart from the group, his expression serious and intense. "It's not you, Princess Allura. It's me," he declared, his voice steady.
Hunk, ever the compassionate and curious one, tilted his head to the side, his eyes filled with concern. "Because?" he asked, the single word laden with the collective uncertainty of the group.
Keith's gaze shifted upwards, as if searching for answers in the very structure of the castle. "I just think Zarkon must've imprinted on me during our fight or something," he explained, the weight of his words hanging heavily in the air.
