Girl Meets Sick

Maya went and sat down on Amber's desk chair and put her head in her hands.

A: It's okay. Just take some deep breaths.

Maya sat there for a little while, and eventually, the breakdown stopped.

A: Do you wanna talk about it?

M: I was on face time with my boyfriend, and he could tell something was wrong, and it all just got to me.

A: Yeah, that'll happen when you live here.

M: Does it ever go away?

A: Nope.

The next day

Maya woke up the next morning with a massive migraine. Kermit barged in her room to wake her up. His wife, Nina, followed behind him.

Ke: Get up, you lazy ass.

Maya just groaned and rolled over. It was hard for her to even move.

N: Kermit, I don't think she feels very good.

Ke: Why not?

N: Look at her. She looks like she feels horrible.

Nina went over and felt Maya's forhead.

N: She's pretty warm. She needs to stay home today.

Ke: No.

N: She needs to stay home.

Ke: No.

N: She's staying home. End of discussion.

Kermit stormed out, and Nina went to grab Maya some medicine. Maya took the medicine and tried to go back to sleep. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't sleep. She eventually just stopped trying to sleep and just stared at the ceiling.

After a while of just staring at the ceiling, Maya decided to text Lucas even though he was in school.

M: Lucas.

L: Yeah?

M: Whatcha doin'?

L: Getting ready to head to Mr. Matthews class. Wbu?

M: Laying in bed.
