Girl Meets Passed Out

Lucas and Farkle picked Maya up and set her down on the couch while Riley and Zay went to get Nina.

F: Do you think she's cutting herself again?

L: Yeah, why else would she have bandages there?

F: Shouldn't we confront her when she wakes up?

L: Maybe, but not at first. We shouldn't overwhelm her.

F: Yeah, you're right.

Just as they finished talking, the others rushed into the room.

N: What happened?

L: I don't know, we were just sitting here talking, and she passed out.

N: Was she showing any signs of being in pain or anything like that?

F: We were sitting here, and all of sudden, she put her head in her hands, and she started breathing super heavily. We tried talking to her, but it was almost like she couldn't hear us. She pulled her knees up to her chest and started crying. Then she passed out and fell on the floor.

N: I didn't think this would happen so soon.

Z: You didn't think what would happen so soon?

N: Maya got diagnosed with a super rare condition. She could get random migraines out of nowhere, and they could get bad enough to the point where she could pass out from the pain and have trouble breathing. The doctor said it shouldn't happen for a while, though.

F: How long ago was she diagnosed?

N: Right after winter break, she was diagnosed 3 days after she got back.

Z: That was 3 months ago.

N: Oh, I guess it was.

F: Did the doctor tell you what to do if this happened?

N: No, she said there's nothing you can do. You just need to wait.

Nina went over and felt Maya's forehead. She then went into the kitchen and grabbed a wet washcloth. She put it on Maya's forehead.

Amber came in and looked at all of them with a very skeptical look.

A: Where's Maya?

N: She's on the couch.

A: Passed out?

R: Yeah, how did you know?

A: She came into my room the other day. She said her head hurt and she almost passed out but she didn't.

L: Did she say how it felt.

A: Yeah, she said that it felt like her head was gonna explode, and she could barely move.

Z: Ouch

A: Yeah.

F: What'd you do to make it go away?

A: I talked to her, and I made sure she was lying down and her head was elevated. It helped make sure she stayed awake.

Lucas went over and sat down next Maya's head on the couch. He pulled her closer to him and laid her head on his lap.

L: This has happened before.

A: What? When?

L: When we went to Texas. We were out by the campfire, and she passed out. We just assumed that she was dehydrated. When she woke up, she said something about her head hurting, I really just thought that she hit her head on the ground when she passed out.

A: How long was she passed out for?

L: Like 30 minutes.

N: How long has she been passed out for now?

F: About 20 minutes.

They all just stood there quietly for a little while. After a few minutes, Maya jerked like something scared her, but she was still passed out.

She started crying and turned her head into Lucas's leg. She was still passed out, so everyone was confused. Lucas rubbed Maya's back, and it seemed to calm her down a little bit, but she was still crying.

L: It's okay, Maya. It's gonna be okay.

Maya's Pov (from when she passed out)

I felt like my head was going to explode. It hurts so bad. I was crying, and next second, I know, I hear a loud thud, and I'm in the ground. I can't open my eyes, and there's a loud ringing sound in my ear.

I felt someone pick me up from off of the ground. I could tell it was Lucas by the way he gently held me in his arms for a second before setting me down.

As soon as I hit the couch, I actually passed out. It was more of going into a dream state, though.
