Michaela POV - two days later
I wake up with a gasp. I'm covered in sweat and take a second to gain my bearings.
'I'm okay.'
I yawn and feel Blue move, lifting his head.
He looks at me curiously and I lean down to hug him.
I get out of bed and quietly open my door, tiptoeing downstairs.
I hit the kitchen and grab a glass, walking to the refrigerator, and starting to fill it.
I hear a yawn and I freeze.
I close my eyes and take shallow breaths.
"Michaela? What're you doing down here?"
I jump when the voice startles me and I drop the glass, it shattering.
That snaps me out of my fear and I hold my breath, waiting for the worst.
I open my eyes when I see a light come on.
"Michaela? Honey? It's okay. Don't move, there's glass everywhere."
I stare at the floor and see all of the glass.
"I'm sorry." I whisper.
"It's okay, just an accident." Alex says.
I nod and keep my eyes on the floor.
I see the glass get swept up and Alex kneels in front of me.
"You were thirsty?"
I sigh and nod.
"Tomorrow night, you can take some water up to your room so that you don't have to come down here." She says.
I nod.
"Okay, back to bed." She says.
I reach for her hand and pull her towards the stairs with me.
"Night, Michaela." Serv says.
I nod and pull Alex up the stairs and into my room.
I stop walking and point.
"You want me to stay with you?"
I shrug and nod.
She sighs, "Okay."
I let got of her hand and get into the bed.
I watch as she gets in too and I grab her hand.
"You're safe. Go to sleep." She whispers.
I let out a deep breath and feel myself fall asleep.
'I'm safe.'
Alex POV -
I slowly wake up and look around as light starts to pour into the room.
I look down and see Michaela's head on my chest, arms wrapped around me.
I hear footsteps and look up as Serv walks in, "Hey."
I smile, "Hey."
"You guys sleep okay?" He asks.
I look down at Michaela and back up, nodding.
He looks at his watch, "It's 7:30, probably need to get moving so she makes it to school on time."
I nod.
"I'll get breakfast going, you think she will eat?" He asks.
I shrug, "We will see. I'll pick up some prepackaged snacks today."
