The Whipple Family Dinner

Last time, Wade, Sonic and Tails managed to rescue Knuckles from Agent Willoughby and Agent Mason, and now they continue their road trip to Reno Nevada. But first, they decided to take a little detour, which was the house of the Whipple family, located at Boise, Idaho. Wade: "Listen you guys, I think it's best that you stay out of sight until I say otherwise." Knuckles: "Why's that?" Sonic: "Well from my experience, people tend to freak out when they see real aliens, freak out so much that they would sometimes short tranquilizer guns at ya." Tails: "Really?" Sonic: "Yeah... so I think we should listen to Wade on this one." said Sonic, before he and the other aliens went to the siding while Wade rings the doorbell, and it wasn't long before Wade's mom, Wendy Whipple (played by Stockard Channing), came to answer and she gasped. Wade: "Hi mom, I'm home." Wendy: "Oh my gosh... Wade!, it's been so long!" said Wendy, before she gives Wade a big hug. Wade: "Yeah, sorry it's been so long, I've been kinda busy." Wendy: "Busy doing what?" Wade: "Well... it's rather hard to explain..." Wendy: "Come now Wade, I'm sure it's nothing to be embarrassed about." Wade: "Well I wouldn't say it's embarrassing... it's uh... look... I have some friends with me and they like to meet you." Wendy: "Oh friends?, is one of them your girlfriend?" Wade: "Well no... they're um... maybe you'll understand if I show ya... come on guys." said Wade, before Knuckles and the others came over to the door. Knuckles: "Greetings female chief of the Whipple clan, I am Knuckles." Sonic: "I'm Sonic." Tails: "And I'm Tails." Knuckles: "We thank you for allowing us to stay in your place for a bit." said Knuckles, before Wade's mother fell down to the floor. A few moments later, Wendy was getting some tea to calm her nerves and looks at the aliens. Wendy: "I'm okay now... so... you're from space?" Wade: "Well yeah... but don't worry, they're friendly aliens." Sonic: "Yeah, we're cool." Wendy: "Yes... well... I want to apologize for fainting like that... it was very rude of me..." Tails: "That's okay, you're not the first one to freak out by seeing us the first time." Sonic: "Yeah... like I once got shot by a tranquilizer gun when a certain human first saw me, and it was not pleasant." Wendy: "I'll bet... so... you live in Green Hills with Wade?" Sonic: "Well the three of us live with the Wachowski couple, who happen to be friends of Wade." Tails: "Yeah, and Knuckles here is training Wade the ways of the echidna to be a strong warrior." Knuckles: "Indeed I am, for in order to rebuild my tribe, I must have an apprentice." Wendy: "Well... I am grateful for you helping my little boy." Wade: "Mom, I'm not a little kid anymore." Wendy: "I know, but you'll always be my sweet little boy... I wished your sister was a sweetheart too..." Tails: "Wade's sister?" Wendy: "Yes... Wanda Whipple... she was always mean to Wade and is very rude... though I couldn't really blame her... sometimes I think she takes her anger out on Wade because she was jealous of Wade getting more attention from me and her father..." Sonic: "Yeah... Wade told us about him... that he abandoned you and all that..." Wendy: "Yes... he was a real jerk alright... and I think Wanda got that jerk trait from him too... treating Wade like dirt... that's why they haven't spoken in years... oh Wanda... may she rest in peace..." Wade: "Wait... what do you..." Wendy: "Wanda joined the FBI... and she was trying to stop some criminals... one of them shot her and... she didn't make it..." Wade: "No... that can't be... why didn't you tell me?" Wendy: "I didn't knew how to tell you the news... and you would have ignored about it as you and Wanda never liked each other..." Wade: "Yeah but... she was still my sister..." said Wade as he sat down on the couch with his mother, while Sonic and the others couldn't help but feel sorry for them. Suddenly, the aliens' stomachs started to growl, which caught the attention of the Whipple pair. Tails: "Oh sorry... I guess after a whole day of driving has made me hungry." Sonic: "Yeah... we haven't had a bite to eat since last night..." Knuckles: "Indeed... I am indeed famished." Wendy: "Oh well... you're in luck, cause I can cook us a big dinner for us to celebrate Wade's return here." said Wendy, before she gets up and goes to the kitchen in order to starting cooking dinner. Some time later, the Whipple family, the aliens were at the table, seeing many kinds of food. Knuckles: "My... such interesting display of a feast, the kind that the greatest of warriors would fight for, but where are the grapes?" Wade: "They're in the wine buddy, but try not to drink too much." Sonic: "Gotcha." Tails: "Hmm... smells really good... but uh... some of the fish here look kinda weird..." Knuckles: "Yes, they look and jiggle like a sponge, and I can't stop eating them." said Knuckles, as he begins to eat the fish. Sonic: "No kidding, these dishes are really something." Wendy: "So... can you tell me more about yourselves?" Sonic: "Well... I came from a planet that was mostly ocean and a really awesome island, and the one who took care of me was Long-Claw, the last of the Owl tribe." Tails: "I came from a different planet, one that had forests and advanced technology." Knuckles: "I was from a tribe of the echidna, who were brave and powerful warriors that also lived on the planet that hedgehog came from... until they were destroyed by the giant Owl tribe." Wendy: "You mean... the tribe that the one called Long-Claw came from?" Sonic: "Yeah... there was a little feud between the owls and the echidnas for some time... which lead to their own doom... leaving us the only ones left... and I've spent 10 years on Earth alone." Knuckles: "While I spent years on a quest that involves searching for the Master Emerald, in hopes to restore my tribe's former glory..." Tails: "As for me... I was abandoned by my own parents for seeing me as a freak..." Wendy: "What?, why would they think you're a freak?" Tails: "Because... I have a second tail... which is not normal even for my kind... everyone thought I was a freak and made fun of me... but then... I discovered Sonic, who saved Green Hills from Dr Robotnik... he became my idol since then..." Knuckles: "Yes... the hedgehog certainly has the heart of a brave and noble warrior." Sonic: "Thanks you guys." sometime later, after the dinner, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles went to Wade's room, where they find Wade listening to some music. Wade: "Hey guys, what's up?" Sonic: "Nothing really, just thought we explore a little." Tails: "Is this your room?" Wade: "Yup, my old room... and right now I'm listening to my favorite songs... they are my jam." Knuckles: "I don't understand, what does that mean?" Wade: "Oh um... it's a meaning of the song being your favorite song, don't you have one?" Knuckles: "No I don't." Sonic: "Well you should get one, you'll love the music on Earth." Wade: "Yeah... listening to songs always cheer me up whenever I feel sad... or lonely and stuff..." Tails: "Um... that poster on the wall... it says... 'Pistol Pete Whipple'... that guy has your family name." Wade: "Yeah... that's my dad... one of the best bowlers out there as I said before..." Knuckles: "Wait... this bowling tournament... will your father be there too?" Wade: "What?, my dad being there?, um... I don't know... never thought of it before..." suddenly, the sound of someone breaking down the door was heard, much to the group's surprise. Tails: "What was that?!" Knuckles: "It seems that we have company..." said Knuckles, as he and the others went out of the room and see Wade's mom being cornered by Agent Willoughby and Agent Mason, who have somehow found the group. Agent Mason: "Hey there... did you miss us?" Wendy: "Wade... who are these people?" Wade: "Well... they tried to kidnap Knuckles so I can safely say they're bad guys." Agent Willoughby: "Oh really?, we're not the ones who believe that dangerous aliens can be our friends." Wade: "Well they certainly make better friends than you lot, that's for sure." Agent Mason: "Enough talking!, let's fight!" shouted Agent Mason, before he and Agent Willoughby used their weapons to attack the aliens, who went to fight back while Wade and his mom help them out. During the fight, Wade and his mom use some chairs to hit the bad agents on the heads, which of course didn't knocked them out, but did distracted them long enough for Knuckles to throw a powerful punch to send them flying out of the house, while Sonic uses a Warp ring to send them away to the Mushroom planet in hopes to get rid of them. Sonic: "There, that should take care of them." Tails: "Are you sure?" Sonic: "Well unless they have any more Warp rings, they won't be going anywhere any time soon." Wade: "Hey mom... are you okay?, sorry about the house." Wendy: "Don't worry... I can always have the house repaired, I'm just happy that my son came home after so long." Wade: "Same here mom." said Wade, before he and his mother went to hug one another, while Sonic and the other aliens just smiled.
