Wade Is Vanilla's Hero

After escaping from Robotnik's hideout, Wade, Knuckles and Vanilla got separated from the others, and now the three of them were all alone in the giant mushroom forest, searching for the others. Vanilla: "Cream!, Cheese!, Amy!, where are you?!" Wade: "Hey Sonic!, Tails!, are you there!" Knuckles: "Keep your voices down, the enemy will surely find us if you keep yelling." Wade: "Oh right... that's a good point there... my bad..." Vanilla: "But we have to let the children know we're here somehow." Knuckles: "Do not worry madam, for my brothers will keep the young ladies safe from harm, that I can assure you." Vanilla: "Well that's a relief... but uh... how are you, Sonic and Tails brothers?" Wade: "My friends, Tom and Maddie, adopted all three of them." Vanilla: "Oh... I see... understandable, for I adopted Amy after her mother passed away from an illness, a long time ago." Knuckles: "Yes... I was wondering what happened to her mother after the demise of our tribe..." Wade: "What does your tribe got to do with Amy?" Knuckles: "Well you see... the pink hedgehog's father was an echidna, and a member of my old tribe... so that would make her half hedgehog and half echidna." Wade: "Really?, huh... that might actually explain her super strength and temper..." Vanilla: "Well I can't really blame her for that episode she had at Robotnik's place... for many always made fun of her color as well as her heritage... the poor thing..." Wade: "I'm sorry to hear that... I know the feeling of being made fun of as people always thought I was a loser or a fool... even my own dad... but thanks to the training that Knuckles gave me, I became a mighty warrior... heck I even managed to save the boys from a bad man with a mech." Knuckles: "Yes... while it was my brothers and I that defeated him, we wouldn't have gotten that victory if it weren't for you..." Wade: "Thanks... that means a lot coming from you." Vanilla: "So... tell me Knuckles... were you really from the same tribe as Amy was in?" Knuckles: "Yes... and I knew her when I was little... and although very young back then, she already proven to be a strong warrior with that hammer... and yet... she was kind like no other in my tribe... she was a good rival of mine back then... and I always lost to her..." Wade: "Wait... you got beaten by a little girl?" Knuckles: "As much as I hate to admit it... yes... but that was a long time ago, I wasn't much of a fighter back then... though I'm sure that I can handle her now... maybe..." Vanilla: "Well just to let you know, it's never okay for a gentleman to hit a lady, warrior or not." Wade: "She's right about that." Knuckles: "That wasn't what I was taught in my tribe." Vanilla: "Maybe not, but most societies are not like that, so it's against a man's honor to hit a lady." Knuckles: "Hmm... well I never actually fought a girl before... a few duels with the pink hedgehog long ago... but nothing too serious... and I only fight when it was necessary." Vanilla: "Well that's good to hear..." Wade: "Say uh... where's the Mr Vanilla the Rabbit?, cause I didn't saw him here or in Robotnik's place..." asked Wade, before Vanilla stopped and looked down in sadness. Vanilla: "He's... what Amy calls... the Great Battleground In the Sky..." said Vanilla, which made Wade and Knuckles stop and paused for a moment, realizing what she was talking about. Knuckles: "I'm sorry to hear that..." Wade: "Oh man... I shouldn't have asked..." Vanilla: "No... it's okay... it's only natural... my husband... Johnny Lightfoot the Rabbit... was quite um... a warrior as you might call him... protecting me from whatever tries to harm me... he was my hero, ever since he and I were children... he gave up his life to save me and baby from a fire... and ever since then... I've been taking care of Cream and Amy all by myself..." Wade: "And you didn't ask for anyone to help you?" Vanilla: "Well I didn't wanted to bother anyone, and I wasn't sure if they could be trusted... especially with the history Amy has with the echidnas and Cream's special healing powers and all that..." Knuckles: "Hmm... I suppose that would make it difficult for finding the right person to trust on such a task..." Wade: "Well if you want someone to help you with taking care of your daughters... I sure wouldn't mind helping ya." Vanilla: "Really?" Wade: "Sure, I mean if Tom and Maddie can handle Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, I don't see why I can't help out the girls too." Vanilla: "Well that's very kind of you Mr Whipple... but I don't want to trouble you or anything..." Wade: "It's no trouble at all... I'm a cop after all, and helping others is what a cop does best." suddenly, Knuckles sensed something wrong, while Vanilla's ears twitched. Vanilla: "What was that?" Wade: "What?" Knuckles: "There's something coming..." said Knuckles, before the ground began to shake up a little, and it wasn't long before a large mech showed up, and inside it was Agent Stone, Dr Robotnik's assistant. Agent Stone: "Ah... Knuckles and Officer Whipple... nice to see you again..." Wade: "I know you!" Knuckles: "So do I... the Goat Milker..." Vanilla: "The what?" Agent Stone: "I give the doctor a latte with Austrian goat milk." Vanilla: "Okay..." Wade: "What are you doing here?" Agent Stone: "I think the answer's obvious... to capture you and the rest of the aliens." said Agent Stone, before he makes the mech he was riding on to capture Vanilla, who was now screaming in terror. Vanilla: "Ahh!, help!" Wade: "Let her go!" Agent Stone: "Or what?" Wade: "Or else I'll use these." said Wade, before he pulls out the Knuckles quill powered gauntlets that used to belonged to Agent Mason and puts them on, ready to fight Agent Stone and his mech. Agent Stone: "I see you got some of the toys that The Buyer made for Agent Mason." Wade: "Yup, and unless you wanna get punched in the face with it, I'd suggest you let the rabbit lady go." Agent Stone: "Sorry, but the only orders I follow are the ones made by the doctor." Wade: "Fine... don't say I didn't warn you..." said Wade, before he begins to charge towards the mech and punches it on the leg, forcing Agent Stone to lose balance and drops Vanilla, who falls into Wade's arms unharmed just in the nick of time. Wade: "Are you okay?" Vanilla: "Uh... yeah... thank you..." Wade: "Don't thank me just yet... we still have this guy to deal with." Knuckles: "Agreed, ma'am, stand back." said Knuckles, before he and Wade went to face the mech, while Vanilla took a few steps back, knowing better than to get in their way. It wasn't long before both Wade and Knuckles went to battle the mech, which proved to be much tougher than the one that The Buyer had, but the pair refused to give up and kept on punching it. That was when Knuckles begins to use the Flames of Disaster, while Wade's quill powered gauntlets started to come on fire too. Wade: "Ah!, my gauntlets are on fire!" Knuckles: "That's not just any fire... those are the Flames of Disaster..." Wade: "Wait... you mean... I can use the Flames of Disaster too now?!" Knuckles: "So it would seemed..." Wade: "Alright!, let's do this!" called out Wade, as he and Knuckles went to continue their fight against Agent Stone and his mech, until the mech finally started to break apart and Agent Stone was forced to use a Warp ring to escape from the warriors. Once the danger was over, Vanilla ran over to Wade and gave him a hug. Vanilla: "Oh my goodness... are you alright?" Wade: "Yeah, I'm fine, and so is Knuckles here." Vanilla: "That's good to hear... and Wade... thank you again... for saving me back there... you're my hero." Wade: "Really?... wow... no lady has ever... called me their hero before... gotta scratch that off my bucket list." Vanilla: "And perhaps scratch this off too." said Vanilla, before she gives Wade a kiss on the cheek, which made him gasp and blush a little. Wade: "No way... a lady kissed me... yes!, a lady kissed me!" Knuckles: "Well done Wade." said Knuckles with a thumb's up. Vanilla: "Now then... shall we continue our search for the children?" Wade: "Huh?, oh yeah, let's do that." said Wade, before he and Knuckles join Vanilla on continuing their search for the rest of their group.
