You looked up through the window, listening as the footsteps stopped. The figure was tall, with deep purple skin that looked like it was rotting off the bone. It wore a yellow, animal-like mask that was cracked and frayed. Wires stuck out of the mask in various places, along with the suit covering his torso of the same description. His eyes were empty sockets filled with two white lights, spiraling as they glowed. His mouth, hidden behind fake teeth was distorted into a wide grin.

You gulped before smiling at it as he slid his papers through the slot.

"Greetings, mortal." He croaked out, his smile never wavering as you picked up his documents. His ID seemed the same as a normal ID. It had his photograph, ID number, expiration date, name, and the D.D.D. logo.

You grabbed his file, seeing he lived with a woman named Yan Luo Wang Diyu. While they were both very different from the previous tenants, their room numbers told you they were Dr. Afton and Mia.

You read over the number's carefully, then looked deep into his photograph. You didn't want to look into the specific details, but something told you these figures were made to look so grotesque so you wouldn't look deeper into their existence. It may have been your paranoia, but it wasn't going away as you verified every part of his figure to his photograph in the file, to his ID.

Then you picked up his entry request. Same information you expected, except for his reasoning.

I am a resident of this astral circle. I went out to look for some skins.

Your head snapped up to look at him, and he just smiled back.

"Why does your entry request say this?"

"There's nothing wrong with my entry request." He grinned as you shivered. You quickly shoved everything back at him and opened the door.

"Finally." He finished, grabbing his documents and heading inside. You shut the door behind him as you heard his feet drag into the building.

You waited, covering your eyes as you tried to wake yourself up. You tried pinching yourself or slapping yourself. You were desperate to wake up.

"Greetings, human." You heard a voice say as you snapped up to look at the figure before you.

She had a blue hue to her skin and four, large hands with six fingers attached to her bald head. They had deep purple swirls on the palms that matched her small diamond earrings. She had nine small yellow eyes and a large, sharp smile. The mouth was enough to know she resembled Lois to you, but you felt a little bad knowing it.

You picked up her ID and her Entry Ticket, reading them over with her file. Drugia was her name. She was a nightmare designer. For a moment, you contemplated blaming her for putting you in this place. Then you shook the thoughts from your head. You couldn't get sucked into this delusion further- you couldn't let this nightmare win.

You carefully noted each item in her description. Counted each finger, each eye, checked for sharp teeth, her earrings. Everything seemed right.

Your hand hovered over the open button, when you saw something out of the corner of your eye.

Her nose looked... pointier than what the file showed. You looked down at her photograph in her file again, then back up at her. You swore you saw it. Her nostrils weren't as pronounced in real life, nor was the point of her nose bold enough. It was such a small detail, would that really constitute a doppel?

"I think something is wrong with your appearance."

"You think? I look just as beautiful as I always do. Maybe I should design a nightmare made just for you?" She questioned as you just stared at her. No, the more you looked the more you saw it. That wasn't her nose. You slammed the emergency button and picked up the phone, dialing the D.D.D.
