6 - Why Me?

You were shoved onto the couch pretty harshly, your shoes still on. Mia sat down beside you on the couch as the twins sat on your bed, waiting with anticipation. 

They dragged you back to your office apartment, a much smaller area than what you had before. It consisted of a small square, what used to be an employee lounge for the different staff of the apartment. Now it was your living room and bed, all fairly close to one another.

"You've got to be kidding, guys it wasn't even a-"

"Well, what did you guys do?" Mia questioned as you shrugged.

"Francis invited me over for a meal after I had a doppelganger try to attack me. We just talked the rest of the evening. Then I left?"

"Hmm. A dinner? With just the two of you?" Selenne questioned, looking at her sister.

"Mhm." Elenois nodded.

"Date." They both remarked as your face flushed pink.

"I have dinner with people all the time."

"Yeah. You'll have dinner with us. Go over for the Rudboy apartment party. That's not a date, that's a dinner. He had you over on a date." Elenois remarked. "Come on, why are you fighting it? He's a total cutie. Everyone loves a man in uniform."

"Most of the men wear a uniform here- I wear a uniform." You announced as the girls snickered. 

"True." Mia nodded. "Do you have a crush on anyone here?"

"I don't like Francis like that!"

"How quick to point him out," Selenne whispered.

"That's why I'm here!" You announced, a little annoyed by their persistence.

They were right in some aspects. After all, what is a date but a dinner between two people? 

And you wouldn't say he wasn't attractive. Not in the slightest, he was totally hot. But you weren't just going to openly admit that to people.

"Oh my gosh, we need to plan an outfit for you." They said, running to your small closet. They ripped the doors open, taking out articles they liked and sliding away articles they disapproved of. Mia turned to you, giving a small smile.

"You did this to me." You mumbled as she giggled with a small head tilt. "What am I supposed to do?"

"Take a break," Mia remarked, "and just enjoy it."

"Okay, and what about... you know?"

"What, Nacha?" Elenois questioned, turning to look at you and Mia, a purple sweater in hand. "I'm pretty sure she would give you her blessing."

"How do you know?" You questioned.

"Because she told me that she wanted you guys to." Selenne remarked, throwing a black button down onto the pile. 

"What?!" You announced, standing up with surprise. "She said that?"

"Of course! Because you guys are adorable together!" Elenois cheered, clapping to herself. "Okay, model!"

The next early morning you woke up exhausted to an alarm that was much more annoying than usual. It's insistent ringing made you want to recoil. It was your early alarm, the one that began your perimeter walk around the building. 

You quickly showered and put on your uniform, placing on your key ring to your belt before tying your shoes and walking out the office door. You locked it behind you, twisted it to confirm, and continued walking.
