Hey guys! It's time for Jewel's training. I know that these chapters have been really boring recently, but I've got some really interesting stuff coming up soon! Enjoy guys 😋
Okay. Training day. What should I expect? And how is this even going to work? Suddenly, I hear a banging on my door.
"IT'S BRONTE, OPEN UP!" I hear Bronte call, or rather scream, from outside my bedroom door.
"COMING!" I reply as I quickly get dressed.
I open the door to see Counselor Bronte and Counselor Zarina standing in front of me. "Hurry up. For your first training session, we're taking you to Exile."
"What are you talking about -" I begin to say, but Bronte and Zarina have already grabbed my wrists and light leaped us 3 to the outside of Exile.
"Here we are!" Zarina says as we are at the entrance of all the cells.
"Do you have permission from my parents that I can be here?" I whisper as the prisoners stare at me, just wanting any excuse to leave.
"Yeah. We already asked both Calla and Scarre, and they both said it was fine as long as both me and Zarina were with you at all times." Bronte said calmly as he unlocked 5 prisoners from their cells.
"WHY ARE YOU UNLOCKING THEIR CELLS?" I yelled and Zarina looked at me with confusion.
"Don't be so loud. Also, it's fine, Bronte is handcuffing each criminal he releases with unbreakable handcuffs. There's no reason to be worried. Okay?" Zarina says comfortingly. I nod slowly.
Bronte's unlocked five prisoners that are now handcuffed and following us to the outside area of Exile.
"Okay. Training time. Jewel, I want you to have a beaming ray of light from your hands and just keep hitting these guys with it." Zarina said calmly.
"You know I can only hold it for 10 seconds maximum right now, right?" I remind her and she nods.
"That's where I come in," Bronte said. "I want you to think of all the hatred, fear, disgust, anxiety and all those bad emotions inside of you. Let that fuel your light beam so you can keep controlling it for more than 10 seconds."
"Why do I have to be able to use it for more than 10 seconds? Isn't that enough?" I groan.
"No, it's not. 10 seconds is damaging, yes, but it isn't fatal. You need at least 30 seconds of concentrated electricity for it to be fatal." Zarina replied.
"But what if I'm distracted?" I ask. "Like, in a fight, if I'm trying to kill one of the bad guys with this power of mine, someone might grab me or something in the middle of it. How am I supposed to stay focused?"
"We're going to work on that next, okay? Just focus on this exercise for now." Bronte told me with a hint of impatience.
"Do you want me to try and kill them, or...?" I ask slowly.
"Try for 30 seconds if you can. If not, that's okay. If you do accidentally kill these guys, it doesn't really matter." Zarina said.
"Well, that's harsh. How do you think that affects their mental health?" I say.
"What's mental health?" Bronte asks with confusion.
"Never mind. Okay, who do I start with?" I say.
"As we said before, just do a long beam of lightning and just hit as many of them as you can." Zarina said and I nod.
"Try not to take so long to command it either." Bronte suggested and I nodded again.
I threw my hands forward and the lightning beam immediately came out. I hit one of the first prisoners and they screamed. I smiled and moved onto the second guy. He had the same reaction as the first. I smiled again, but now, I can feel the tiredness washing over me. My lightning flickers.
"Focus on your emotions! Let those fuel your electricity!" Bronte pushed and I bit my lip. I thought about Asher and how he hasn't confessed his love to me yet. I thought about how my parents nearly died by Linh. And worst of all, I thought about the rape.
I screamed loudly, but it worked. The lightning and electricity became more powerful and lasted for more than 10 seconds. I went back and forth between all of the prisoners, letting out all that anger and emotions that I didn't want to hold back. After 30 seconds, I let go.
"Wow! That emotion thing worked really well. I could have gone for longer if I wanted to, but I didn't because those guys are dead now." We all took a glance at the 5 prisoners.
"Yep. They're definitely dead." Zarina said.
"Okay, you two wait out here, I'm going to get another prisoner for the next part of your training." Bronte said as he quickly went inside. A minute later, he came out with another prisoner. I grimaced. Probably the only elf in the world that's ugly.
"Now. What I want you to do, Jewel, is to hit this guy with your electricity. Remember your work with your emotions. Now, Zarina is going to try and grab you and pull you away, so you have to try and keep your focus. You got that?" Bronte said and I nodded.
"Quick question - is the prisoner going to be moving, or is he going to be still?" I ask.
"Still, for now, since you're new to this." Bronte said kindly. "Are you ready?" I nodded. "Go."
I shot the lightning out of my hands as the prisoner screamed. I smiled as I focused on my emotions, making the beam more powerful, ultimately making the pain worse. Suddenly, Zarina leaped at me and pulled me away - but I kept my light steady. I kicked Zarina away, my hands behind my back, still aimed at the prisoner, trying to stop Zarina from attacking me. I ran from her, my electricity still aimed at the prisoner.
Suddenly, I got an idea. Let's go a step further. I shut down every noise from my ears and went into 100% focus mode. While still keeping the beam of light directed at the prisoner steady, I used my telekinesis skill to lift me up and away from Zarina. She stared at me in awe as I continued to injure the prisoner. His screams felt refreshing - but soon, it stopped. He was dead.
"Great job, Jewel! That was impressive," Bronte said with a slight smile as I came floating down.
"Have you been practicing your telekinesis, Jewel?" Zarina asked me and I nodded. "That's great! We'll make next week's training harder for you then."
"We can even try and add more skills into the mix, like holding your breath underwater while still doing your lightning!" Bronte suggested. "You know what, yeah - we'll do that next week."
I groaned and hid my smile. "Thank you guys. That was a great training session."
"Who said we were done?" Bronte asked.
Zarina checked her watch. "Uh, actually, Bronte, we are done. It's been two hours already."
"Already -" Bronte began, then stopped himself and smiled. "That's okay. Let's go home, everyone."
We all took hands and light leaped back home. And, you know what, I'm actually excited for next week's training session.
Hey guys! I hope you liked this. I don't know if I went too far with the death thing, but that's okay! Anyways, more stuff will be coming up soon so prepare yourselves!
