It had been over a month since Christoph started training Cecelia. October had pretty much come and gone. Halloween was in a week, and still no sign of Azazel. She'd been training non-stop, pushing herself to keep up with the Elites. Christoph hadn't taken her request to be trained by him lightly. The very next morning, after their talk, he'd shown up at her dorm room with a bag of workout clothes and a training schedule.

He'd worked into her schedule daily exercise, meals, study time, training, and even breaks for the hobbies she enjoyed. He'd coordinated days of sparring, grappling, weapons instruction, and tutoring. He'd even brought in the other Elites to help with her training.

Christoph was there to work on her sparring and grappling. He'd also been instructing her on knives, but Sam had been handling the majority of her weapons training. In the past days, she'd become very familiar with the katana.

Darius, the largest of the Elites, hadn't done much training with her, but he'd become a familiar face with her and Evie in recent days. She learned that Christoph had assigned him to security detail.

Basically, he'd become their babysitter. She didn't really like the idea of it, but he was surprisingly good company and didn't mind tagging along shopping or really anywhere they wanted to go. He clicked really well with the girls and had a surprisingly great sense of humor. Like, he was really funny. Apparently, on his free nights, he liked to do stand-up comedy. It was interesting how all the fallen angels had such different personalities, but what surprised Cecelia most was Erik.

Erik had been handling Cecelia's education.

Erik had seen a lot in his years and had lived so many different lives. He was, after all, Eros. Being the angel of 'love and mischief,' he'd had such a strong connection to the world and its history. He'd met Cleopatra, had an affair with Helen of Troy, and for a time, lived in Italy under the name Casanova. It was certainly an interesting life.

Erik had taught her all sorts of things about the history of Heaven, Angel Keys, the fall of Lucifer, and the discovery of the Divine Artifacts. He explained the part they played in different religions, how so many great prophets, historical figures, and rulers of the past too, like her, were Nephilim. He taught her how to mix and temper metal with Angel Blood and explained that it was poison to demons who traded their seraphic light away. He explained the elements of Heaven: names like Ithritze, Galilite, and Seraquartz. He educated her on their uses and how magic worked, how to use seraphic scripture, the language of Heaven, to protect herself with runes of power. Last, he explained the Arch Dukes and the names that would haunt her dreams.

There was Asmodeus The Wicked, Dagon The Destroyer, Abaddon The Torturer, Belial The Toxic, and worst of all, Azazel The Ruthless, Lucifer's second in command. At all costs, she could not, under any circumstances, give up her key to one of them. Giving up her key to an Arch Duke would only lead to establishing the certain destruction of the world as she knew it.
