42| A Dangerous Devotion

I stepped out of the shower feeling refreshed to go on date with Tae . After carefully picking out an outfit I was finally ready to meet him . I was about to lock the door of my apartment but just then I got a call from my Manager .

Sam : YN You have an urgent shoot .

Me: What???

I exclaimed as today was supposed to be off for work .

Me : Sam, today was supposed to be my day off. Can't someone else cover it?

Sam : It's urgent you need to hurry up !!

With that she hung up the call . I stared at my phone in disbelief but my heart dropped the moment it rang again and this time it's Tae . My heart raced as I saw Tae's name light up on the phone screen. Mixed emotions of excitement and disappointment flooded my mind. Taking a deep breath, I answered the call, trying to sound composed despite the chaos unfolding around her.

Me: Hey Tae

I said, my voice tinged with regret.

Me: "I'm so sorry, something urgent came up with work. I might not be able to make it tonight."

There was a pause on the other end, and I held my breath, waiting for his response.

Taehyung : Oh, I see.

Tae finally replied, his tone understanding yet tinged with disappointment.

Taehyung : "It's okay, Treasure. Work comes first. We can reschedule."

I felt a pang of guilt. I had been looking forward to this date with Tae for weeks, and now it seemed like I was letting him down.

Me: "I really am sorry, Tae. I'll make it up to you, I promise."

Tae chuckled softly.

Taehyung : "I believe you. Just let me know when you're free again, okay?"

Relief washed over me as I nodded, even though Tae couldn't see her.

"Thank you, Mr Boyfriend. I'll talk to you soon."

I quickly got into my car and made my way to the shoot location . I felt bad for ruining our date but what can I do ? This shoot is urgent ."fuck!!" I cursed seeing the traffic . I was nervously tapping my fingers on the steering waiting for this traffic to get cleared .

Who the hell is passing from the road that every turn to the road is blocked ?

After the traffic of Thirty minutes finally I was near the location but I frowned seeing people running around and also I could see smoke in the air .

My heart sank as I approached the chaotic scene near the shoot location. Smoke billowed into the sky, and people were rushing around with a sense of urgency that heightened my anxiety. I parked my car hastily and approached one of the crew members who seemed to be coordinating.

"What's happening here?" I asked, my voice laced with concern.

The crew member turned to me with a grim expression. "There's been a fire on set. Everyone is safe, but we're trying to assess the damage and figure out our next steps." My mind raced with worry. Not only had my plans with Tae been disrupted, but now this unforeseen incident threatened to further delay the shoot I was called in for.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" I offered, hoping to contribute despite feeling powerless in the face of the situation. The crew member shook his head. "Thanks, but the emergency services are already here. I think we've got it under control now."
