Chapter 15 - All fear the halo.

King Luka Black

The two weeks flew by too damn slow, and the emptiness filled me more and more for every passing day. The deadness I'm faced with is devastating. Seeing my strong mate lying on the floor drenched in his own blood, will be a image that'll haunt me forevermore. The dreadful feeling, I got in my gut told me something was terribly wrong. The next blaring siren, was my wolf who ran amuck in my mind. He was howling for his mate.

His need for closeness with our mate hit hard and did its job to perfection. The temptation too great to battle, and I was left with no choice of my own. The sight was excruciating to witness, and my wolf have whimpered his pain every second the past two weeks, making the process even more untenable and sufferable. His lifeless grey diamonds were hidden underneath his eyelids - Shredding no light on his survival chances.

When I entered our chamber, time slowed down and my mind had a hard time registering what my eyes was seeing. I ran to his crumbled body, my knees colliding with the ground, the sound so loud it echoed in the chamber. I was afraid to touch him at first, my hands hovering above his unmoving body. My wolf screamed at me to do something, anything, and I was forced to act. The demands came through fiercely and loudly. The guards ran to get the doctor, as I lifted my mate up from the floor to place him softly on the bedsheets. The red substance taking over the grey tone of color the bedsheets used to carry.

The doctor burst through the open doors, like a superhero with a medical kit in hand. The doctor in him took over immediately, as he began working on my mate, starting with his fresh wounds still oozing blood heavily. Marcys' claws were kept locked in the sides of his head, the claws preventing a bleed out from happening. The doctor wrapped the other wounds tight and nicely with bandage, keeping most of the blood contained within his body. The large blood loss he suffered from was the biggest problem at hand, and Doctor Richard feared for his survival. A blood transfusion was set in place to ensure my mate's survival to the best of our abilities.

I have never felt so helpless before, the emotion foreign and not at all appreciated. The perks of being mates is our matching blood type, and that day it was put to good use. When his claws were removed from his head, the blood transfusion couldn't keep up with the rapid pace of his oozing blood, and he crashed once, staking a claim on his survival chances. My heart had broken into a million pieces, as I watched Richard get started on first aid, as his body gave in to the temptation the darkness promised. He got him back quickly, and the beeping of the monitors following his heartbeat, was a rhythm I could listen to for an eternity.

He was alive again.

My joy came crashing down, when the truth peeked through. The healing process hadn't been activated and there were no signs of improvement on the course of concern. Richard reminded me of the enchanted collar Marcys still carried, and how it could prevent him from healing. The collar was removed immediately, but there was no amendment. His healing still wasn't working.

We were almost sure, Marcys did this to himself - What we didn't understand was why. We had both hoped on improvement and an awaken Marcys to enlighten us on his quest to kill himself, but we fell short. Marcys have been in a coma for the past two weeks, and we were left with no knowledge. My mind was in a worried haze, especially at his lack of healing. He kept bleeding heavily, and a blood transfusion was required daily to keep him stable. He was dying in front of me, and I couldn't do a damn thing.

Richard informed me that if we were dealing with some sort of venom, that would answer the questions regarding his lack of healing. A blood sample showed us exactly what we were up against, and we were blinded by our lack of knowledge. Marcys was poisoned with two types of venom.
