Chapter 37 – Night on haunted mountain.

Marcys savage

"Are we close?" Luka asks for the fifth time, and for the first time, I give him the answer he's wishing for. "Yes"

"Thanks fuck" My mate swears breathlessly.

We've made it to the top of the giant mountain, and Luka' heavy breathing tells me he's so done with the long and exhausting climb. The sun is taking its last drag of the day, and falling upon the mountains, the last rays illuminating enough for us to see where we're stepping. The rest of the way to Ash' cabin is short and doesn't consist of any climbing.

After our talk, I felt the weight being lifted from my shoulders. To others I will never be submissive and will always be the Savage monster, and even though people see that as a nightmare come haunting, I relish in it. It's something I created on my own, and what I've been my whole life. I don't want to just be what Luka gave me - The North King, and his mate. I want something of my own, something that describe who I am as an individual.

I will always be the Savage monster.

My reputation will always stay the same, and I won't allow anyone to change that. My reputation is something I build on my own, and in many ways it's my identity. I will be a King and the Savage monster in the same package. I will be feared as a regent and as a monster.

That's who I am - Someone to be feared.

Ash' cabin comes into view, along with the other cabins. The meadow brings back memories, memories I thought was forgotten in another time, to never be discovered again. A so far distant memory, I didn't think it was possible to bring it forth again. I inhale the crisp air, with closed eyes, taking in the familiar scent the meadow carries in its winds.

A few witches occupy the meadow, but most have already taken shelter for the night to come. They give me a quick once over, before turning their gazes to the stranger standing tall beside me.

They recognize me.

I can see it all over their faces, but their uneasiness regarding my mate, is present. He's unknown to them, and it shakes them to the core to have a stranger in their midst. The coven is very hostile towards strangers, but since he's here with me, I know they don't have the guts to question his presence. I make my way across the dead-silent meadow and stop in front of the cabin I remember fondly. The pale wooden door stands out against the greenery and I allow my closed fist to pound the door and it swings open revealing my long-time friend.

"Marcys" She exclaims with glee, before throwing herself into my arms. I catch her, expecting nothing but a hug, but when her lips descend on mine in a kiss, I know I'm fucked.

Luka' growl is deafening and powerful enough to shake the tress and cabin. Ash is ripped from my arms, her lips disconnected from mine, making me release a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Mine!" His roar shakes the ground. He collects my rigid body in his arms, basically suffocating me with his tight embrace, as he forces my head into his chest, my face getting smushed by his force. Ash is grinning away happily and look between us with a fond gaze.

"You found your mate!" She exclaims loudly, her chipper mood not dampening the slightest even though she's receiving a rather heated glare from my furious mate. She gasps, as if remembering something, and cross her arms, an angry frown marring her beautiful face. "You bastard! Why didn't you tell me?"

I struggle my way out of Luka' tight grip, and after a few silent seconds, I manage to make his arms loosen around me just the slightest, allowing me to remove my head from its formerly smushed position against his chest.
