Chapter 9 - Scaredy wolf.
King Luka Black
I turn my gaze to the clock standing on my nightstand, the numbers lighting up a few shadows the darkness around us had cast. 2:37 am.
I sigh heavily, feeling myself tense at the realization that I've been kept awake these past hours, and the time has reached far into the night. The restlessness in my legs is numbing and gone across the boundary to conflict pain upon me. The swirling thoughts in my head keeping me wide awake, an exhaustion unknown letting my eyes rest for seconds before popping open to stare upon the bland ceiling.
Marcys had absolutely no problems falling asleep, and light snores have left his parted lips since we laid upon the bed and under the comfortable covers.
His heat seep into every inch of my skin, an untamed flame has been unleashed within my being, the reins lost to temptation and a fire gone across the space between us. His back prevents me from seeing his sharp features, and a desperation is set in stone in my will power. I would do about anything to look upon his stunning face.
The story he told me has been another constant nagging on my subconscious, another wandering thought to keep me in an awake state. I was surprised when we laid to rest for the night, that Marcys didn't build a pillow wall, separating us. When I mentioned my thoughts on the matter of us sharing a close proximity, a sneer took over his face, and he didn't waste a second in scolding me for indicating he was an immature pup. A small grin curve on my lips at the thought.
The earlier actions of him stripping in front of me was repeated at bedtime, and at last the only clothing covering his delicious frame from my eyesight was the boxers I gifted him after his shower. Being honest with myself, I did enjoy the small act of seduction immensely.
Being so close, and feeling his warmth entwine with mine, is killing me from the insides, my organs grilled to perfection. The need to embrace his masculine frame is a fierce opponent, and I'm losing the fight too quickly for my sanity in mind. Knowing the faith my poor arms would encounter if I even attempted to wrap them around my sleeping beauty, is what's keeping my arms at my side of the bed. This night is an endless loop of loses on my behalf.
I didn't expect any resistance against sleep from Marcys. Afterall, he has spent a few lifetimes in an underground with no other comfort than the stone floor could provide. His muscular back is turned to me, and I've never wished for lesser restrains. The desperate want to allow my fingertips the freedom to glide down his defined spine, and feel his warm flesh on mine, is eating at me inside and out. The tingles spreading at the contact would be my own personal drug.
The annoying acceptance has been forced upon me, and the sleepless night ahead of me is devastating to even think about. The truth that I'd might experience a tiny bit of sleep if I sacrifice the function of my arms is something I've pondered over these past hours. No matter what, the consequences will hold a devastating result for me.
"Sleep, god damn it" Marcys voice is laced with sleep, a snarl making his anger known. The jump in my resting bones revive every sleeping nerve in my body at the vibrations his voice creates in the room.
A frown is in place as his words register in my hazy mind. "I thought you were asleep" I state, my confusion heavy at his newfound awaken state.
He turns to face me, a deep groan filling the silence. "I was, until I was awoken by your annoying habit of staring a fucking hole in my skull. Haven't your parents taught you it's rude to stare?"
An eyeroll is given at his smartass remark on my manners. "Sorry I woke you" I decide to ignore his remark, not wanting an argument to take place. His hand makes contact with his forehead harshly, a groan rumbling in his chest.
