Chapter 5

Rayas POV
Golgius- "I narrowly escaped there.So that was Meliodas the Dragon sin, I chose to make my exit precisely at the right time then. Hehehe... fascinating indeed."
Meliodas&Rayas- "Gotcha."
We managed to catch up to the holy knight who tried to take Elizabeth and the sword, he look surprised.
Golgius- "Impossible how did they find me?"
Hawk- "My nose can sniff out sloth from a mile away so you better not underestimate it."
Elizabeth- "Is that honestly true?"
Hawk- "Yep.Disgusting huh?"
Meliodas- "I'm gonna have you give up the name of the person who ordered you to swipe my sword and the princess.Otherwise I'll have to beat you black and blue."
The knight Golgius threw his arms up as if he was surrendering. Something felt off about it though.
Golgius- " Of course I surrender."
Elizabeth- "Huh?"
Golgius- "To be honest I'm very much a coward by nature compatibility to my liking particularly if my adversary is the Captain of the seven deadly sins."
I hear metal sounds from behind.
Rayas- "Meliodas behind."
Meliodas blocked the two blades with his broken sword.
Golgius- "I release those blades when I raised my hands, you were able to see me do it?"
Rayas- "Nope. It's new to me but it seems I'm able to hear sounds from miles away."
Elizabeth- "You're kidding right?"
Rayas- "I don't lie."
Dalmally Doctor- "There you are sir Golgius I've been looking for you."
We looked back and saw the doctor who poisoned us.
Hawk- "Hey it's that guy."
Dalmally Doctor- "Now I know I wasn't able to end those two boy's life, but I still poisoned them like I was told. A deal's a deal please return my daughter as promised."
I heard a gust of wind from behind, I looked back and the knight was gone.
Rayas- "He's gone."
Hawk- "Huh where did he go?"
Meliodas- "You need to stay close to me Elizabeth."
Elizabeth-"Right."
Hawk- "Come to think of it when that guy showed up in your room it was out of nowhere too."
Golgius- "No need to shout, I'll shall reunite you with your daughter."
Dalmally Doctor- "Thank you sir she means everything to me."
Meliodas- "Doctor get away from there!"
Meliodas tried to warn the Doctor, then Golgius appeared behind him.
Golgius- "I shall send her to join you in the afterlife."
He stabbed the doctor from the back, all of us were shocked at what just happened.
Hawk- "He got him bad."
The doctor fell down and his blood was pouring out.
Golgius- "We can't have you ruin the holy knight's good name that we ordered you to poison the two boys now can we?"
He disappeared again, and Elizabeth ran towards the dying doctor.
Elizabeth- "N-No!"
Meliodas- "Elizabeth wait."
Hawk- "Hey just forget about that guy."
Elizabeth- "Doctor Dana hold on."
She flipped him over and picked up by the head.
Meliodas- "It isn't safe here, cause we don't know when or where that guy going to appear next."
Elizabeth- "We can't just leave this man to die."
Golgius appeared in front of Elizabeth to attack her. I looked around and saw a hammer, I picked it up and ran to Elizabeth.
Golgius- "I have you Now!"
I made it and blocked his attack. I tried to hit him, and he disappeared.
Elizabeth- "Sir Rayas!"
Hawk- "He vanished again. Is this guy teleporting or what?"
Golgius- "Hahaha! Indeed what a clever pig you are. Despite your strength, it is no match for my powers of teleportation."
He appeared behind me but Meliodas blocked his attack and saved me.
Rayas- "Thanks."
Golgius disappeared again.
Meliodas- "Come on, let's get out of here!"
Meliodas grabbed Elizabeth hand and we all ran. Golgius appearing and attacking us from different directions, me and Meliodas did our best to block him.
Hawk- "Dammit he's leaving behind a metallic scent trail and now I don't have enough time to track it with him attacking us at the same time."
Meliodas- "A metallic scent trail?"
He appeared in-front of us, I managed to block it in time and Meliodas managed to get a hit in. Now he's a few feet away from us.
Golgius- "Hehehehe! No matter where you hide I will always find you."
Rayas- "What are we gonna do?"
Meliodas- "That house over there, hurry!"
We ran inside the broken house to try and hide from him.
Hawk- "What exactly are we doing in this run down building?"
Meliodas- "Think it through, you wanna get townspeople involved in this?"
Hawk-"Well I guess you have a point there."
I stepped on one of the floorboards and it made a squeaky sound.
Rayas- "Be careful guys some of the floorboards are weak to stand on."
Meliodas- "Why don't we just try staying here and see if we can wait him out."
Hawk- "I'm surprised this place is still standing man it's musty."
Meliodas did weird movements with the sword the way we entered the room.
Hawk- "Whatcha doing there?"
Meliodas-"Hmm. A little spell to keep him from coming inside."
Rayas- "You actually know spells? That's hard to believe."
Meliodas- "Well how do you know I can't?"
Hawk- "Is it really safe here though? We're stuck at the top floor of a cramped run down building, there's nowhere to run here.At least close the door if we're trying to hide."
Meliodas- "Doors don't have much of an effect on a person who teleports, and you never know he might just pop between us out of the blue."
Hawk- "Don't say that."
Golgius then appeared right behind Meliodas ready to finish him but Meliodas look back with a smirk.
Golgius-"Good guess try behind you."
Meliodas- "Good guess try under you."
The floorboards where Golgius was standing on were starting to break and he fell down.
Hawk- "Jeez this place it's so rundown he fell straight to the bottom."
Elizabeth- "Then that spell earlier.."
Meliodas jumped down the hole to confront him.
Rayas- "Come on let's catch up to him."
Elizabeth & Hawk- "Right."
We tried to get out of the broken house. When suddenly...
Golgius- "He cut the floor and set a trap for me."
Meliodas- "Your power's invisibility isn't it? There were gaps in time when you vanish and when you show up again, that was kinda bugging me for a while. Someone who could teleport leaving a scent trail was weird for me too. In other words, it meant that you were moving on foot just like we were. And that also meant that you would be forced to enter through the only door. Plus fighting down here means that I can trust Rayas to protect Elizabeth while I deal with you."
We heard a loud crash outside. I got out first and saw that Meliodas was approching Golgius who was on the ground. Elizabeth came out and called Meliodas, he turned around and Golgius took that opportunity and escaped.
Golgius- "What a fright that was, my superiors gave quite a mission to carry out."
Once Golgius got away, Elizabeth ran back to doctor Dana, I was going to follow her but Meliodas stopped me.
Rayas- "Meliodas?"
Meliodas- "Rayas, try and comfort her. We'll be by the bridge that leads to baste prison."
I nodded and went after Elizabeth. I made it to Elizabeth and she was holding Doctor Dana by the head, he lost a lot of blood so I kneeled down next to him.
Elizabeth- "Sir Rayas..."
Doctor Dana- "I'm sorry, for what I have done to you and your friends."
Rayas- "I know why you did it, so you don't have to apologize for it."
Doctor Dana- "Hehehe, you really are a pure hearted boy, so I like to make a request, help my daughter, tell her I've bee-"
The doctor coughed up more blood, I tried to help him.
Rayas- "Don't talk, save your strength."
Doctor Dana- "T-Tell her that I've been living my life with her and that she doesn't have to worry anymore. Can you do that for me?"
I hesitated to answer because of what would happen if the Doctor's daughter finds his father dead. But I regained my composure and gave him the answer he wanted to hear.
Rayas- "I-I will."
Doctor Dana- "Thank you..."
Next thing that happened, the doctor was motionless he was dead. I closed my eyes thinking that someone has died right in front of me. Then I heard crying next to me, I looked and saw Elizabeth was shedding a lot of tears, she blamed herself for the death of the doctor.
Elizabeth- "This is all my fault."
Rayas- "It's not, Golgius killed him."
Elizabeth- "If we hadn't come to this town in the first place, Doctor Dana wouldn't be lying dead and his daughter wouldn't have been taken by the holy knights, it wouldn't have happened. Not to mention, it's my search for the seven deadly sins that brought me to sir meliodas, if not for that then you two wouldn't have gotten seriously injured and you wouldn't have been in the position of being killed by Golgius."
I went next to her and hugged her, she was surprised by this. I talked to her about my decision as well as hers.
Rayas- "Listen, it may not be right for me to say this but you have to keep going. Shedding tears isn't going to save the ones who died, so you have to save the ones who are alive right now, your father,the people and the kingdom. Don't have a tear or two make you give up on that. From the little time I've spent with you guys I've seen it, Meliodas and Diane, they have made up their minds in helping you search for seven deadly sins and I have too. So that's why..."
I stopped hugging her and I put hand on her cheek to look at me.
Rayas- "If you died along the way, the promise that we made to you, were going to keep it."
Elizabeth- "Really? You'd do that for me?"
I stood up and closed my eyes. I told her about what Meliodas wanted me to say.
Rayas- "Elizabeth, we all are going to die someday but as long as there's someone to keep our wishes alive we won't die because of it. Once you decided to follow it no matter how much blood you shed, and even if your tears end up running dry, you have to stick to it. That's what it meant to be a true holy knight like Meliodas."
I walked away and left Elizabeth there so I can meet up with Meliodas and Hawk.
Timeskip
I met up with Meliodas on the bridge so we can head out to Baste Prison.
Meliodas- "You know, you can stay here, you don't have to go."
Rayas- "I wanna go. I wanna see this guy in person. We might be able to catch up with Diane too."
Hawk- "Do you plan on leaving Elizabeth behind she hasn't come out since you carried that guy to his clinic."
Meliodas- "Don't be stupid, she's better off staying here in town. Besides the holy knights in baste prison are after her. Jeez you really are stupid."
Hawk- "You called me stupid twice, people who called people stupid are stupid."
Meliodas- "Well sorry about that porky."
Hawk- "THAT'S TWICE YOU CALLED ME PORKY YOU BASTARD!!"
Meliodas picked up Hawk by the ear, it looked painful.
Afterwards I hear Elizabeth yelling our names.
Elizabeth- "Sir Meliodas, Sir Rayas!"
She made it to us and she was panting.
Rayas- "Why'd you run out here like that for?"
She showed what she was carrying and it was the bag of Meliodas, where he keeps his broken sword in.
Elizabeth- "For this, I mended your scabbard for you while you were still asleep, I can really dusk for the material though."
Hawk- "You're such a thoughtful girl."
Meliodas put it on and sheathed his sword.
Meliodas- "Thanks, it looks like it's holding."
Elizabeth- "I'm glad. And on that note, let's get going now."
She walked past us, we were curious about it.
Elizabeth- "I'm not a knight, but I'm gonna keep on fighting too so I can keep protecting the kingdom and its people. Even if you were to die now, that still wouldn't change things at all."
Meliodas- "Don't go killing me off yet okay?"
Elizabeth- "S-Sorry!"
Hawk ran up to her asking a question.
Hawk- "Elizabeth, how would you handle it if I was the one who died?"
Elizabeth- "Well honestly, I'd try to move on."
Hawk- "Elizabeth that was like night and day."
Elizabeth- "I-I'm sorry Hawk."
Rayas- "Well we won't let your body rot now can we?"
Hawk- "Waaah please don't eat me!"
Elizabeth ,Meliodas and Me started laughing at Hawk's reaction.
Rayas- "I'm kidding Hawk."
Meliodas- "Let's get going."
Elizabeth- "Right. Let's save sir ban."
Rayas- "But we have to save the daughter of Doctor Dana first don't we?"
Meliodas- "Yep. What was her name again, Zenith. She's our first priority, and that's the doctor's request."
Elizabeth- "Sir Meliodas, Sir Rayas. What about sir ban?"
Meliodas- "As soon he finds out that we're all headed his way, I think he bust himself out."
Elizabeth- "Oh you really think so?"
Rayas- "Watch out!"
I saw someone heading our way, it was Diane. Her eyes looked dead for some reason.
Meliodas- "Diane!? What the heck are you all the way out here?"
All of a sudden her eyes went back to normal.
Diane- "What are you guys doing here? You should still be in bed and trying to get some rest. You know you shouldn't be outdoors like this."
Rayas- "Were fine, but are you okay?"
Diane- "What are you talking about? I feel fine."
Hawk- "After you squashed the bugs over at Dalmally, you charged straight to Baste Prison."
Diane looked so confused and we were too.
Diane- "Wait, I did?"
Elizabeth- "What's wrong Lady Diane?"
Rayas- "Hey Meliodas, don't you think she acting a little weird right now?"
Meliodas- "No kidding. You sure you're alright Diane?"
Diane- "Um, yeah my head just a little fuzzy."
As soon as she said that, her eyes went back to being emotionless eyes.
Diane- "There's a holy knight here! Captain, Rayas you've got to take care of the princess. Huh wait where did everybody go?"
Rayas- "Diane we're right here."
Diane- "Give them back right now!"
She started attacking Meliodas. She managed to punch and half of his body was buried.
Elizabeth- "Sir Meliodas! You didn't get hurt did you?"
Rayas- "Diane what are you doing? Meliodas is right here."
She got into her stance and prepared to attack us.
Diane- "I'm gonna tell you here and now, I'm not losing to some holy knight!"
Meliodas soon realized her eyes and figured out what was going on.
Meliodas- "Those eyes... she can't see us at all even if she wanted to."
Hawk- "Then what are we supposed to do now?"
Meliodas picked up Elizabeth and ran away from berserk Diane. I followed soon after.
Meliodas- "We run for starters."
Hawk- "I had a feeling you were gonna say that."
Diane started kept doing continuous attacks, we managed to dodge them. We kept running until we saw 2 people walking on the road.
Rayas- *thoughts* "They're going to be killed."
???- "Calm down Rayas. Focus on what you want to do, and let that flow in your body. Focus."
There was a voice in my head telling me to do something, I want to save those two people. My body started behaving differently and I started going faster.
Rayas- "Wooaaaah!"
I ran faster than Meliodas and Diane and managed to grab the two people and getting them away from her."
Kid- "What's going on?!"
Rayas- "Uh, no time to explain we gotta go hide!"
We managed to hide from Diane and the two people are safe.
Diane- "You can't hide forever holy knight! When I find you, I'm gonna twist you open and pulverize your armor right along with you!"
Man- "Help us please."
Rayas- "Be quiet, or she'll hear you."
Then man nodded still frightened.
Elizabeth- "What's going on here? Did something happen to Lady Diane when she went to Baste Prison?"
Meliodas- "Well whatever it was really made her nuts. Rayas take care them all right?"
Rayas- "You got it I'll do my best."
Meliodas nodded and went to confront Diane.
Elizabeth asked the kid about why they're here. My guess would be that they were going back home until they encountered us.
Kid- "We work as shepherds in the area and we were coming back home from the pasture. Please I don't want anything bad to happen."
Rayas- "Don't worry about it kid, my friend can fix this."
All of a sudden we hear Meliodas saying the similar thing to Diane.
Meliodas- "Hey tall and gruesome you're the one who cast that weird spell on Diane aren't you?"
Rayas- "Meliodas that is Diane."
Both of them started fighting each other.
Meliodas- "Now turn her back to normal!"
Hawk- "Can't believe it, but I think Meliodas is caught under that same illusion as Diane right now."
Diane made earth pillars appear on the ground and targeted at Meliodas. It started heading our way, I picked the kid and we started to run from it.
Hawk- "Hurry up it's almost on top of us!"
We managed to get far away from the fight, while I'm still trying to understand what happened to Meliodas and Diane. Hawk said that they're both under some illusion, I think they might be controlled.
???- "Find the bell to save your friends."
I held my head upon hearing that voice again. He said to find some bell.
Rayas- "What is he talking about? What bell?"
I looked around trying to find this bell, but there is no bell around.
Hawk- "What do we do Elizabeth?"
Elizabeth- "I'm not sure. If this goes on they'll die, but how in the world can we stop this?"
Rayas- "We gotta do something."
