Chapter 22: Don't anger the water

The trio finds themselves worn out with the information they all have but are not sure what the best course of action to take with all this is. "So Evealyn how did you sleep last night if you can't close your eyes?" Rae questions, having only gone to sleep without even checking if she was still awake or not.

"I wasn't going to, well until I got a little help." Evealyn says, remembering last night as if it were a fever dream.

"A little help? Did you mean Misty?" Rae questions and Evealyn shakes her.

"No actually-" Evealyn begins to explain.

Last night when Evealyn saw the little creatures that looked like the Flotonics it had brought up a forgotten hazy memory from her childhood. One where she was in a heavy sweat sick with a cold and high fever. Her grandmother had left her bedroom door open enough so if she needed her to just call out. However Evealyns throat felt so raw and dry at the time her pleas for her grandmother came out as nothing but a barely audible whisper.

Evealyn felt she wanted to cry. At that moment her whole body ached as if she were a paper doll. One crumpled up and stepped on. Feeling herself unable to breath from the pain and heat. Evealyn had closed her eyes and hoped that her grandmother would walk through the door and come relieve her pain. However the more she waited her body felt heavy, almost paralyzed and her vision began to blur.

"What's happening to Jewel's granddaughter?" Evealyn delirious from the pain could only hear the voice softly.

"I don't know, maybe she's sick or something." She heard another faint voice say she saw tiny people dressed in silk flowing garments around their bodies.

"What should we do? Should we call Jewel?" She heard another voice say all she could hear was them asking questions she didn't seem to understand at the moment. All she could do was try and muster up her voice, first it came out as a whimper and then she was able to let out a faintly audible "help me" only able to do it twice before passing out. She doesn't remember much after that other than a cool sensation running through her whole body.

So seeing those tiny creatures again floating on their bubbles was a bit of a surprise to her. She'd thought they'd only been a fever induced hallucination until now. Boy was she wrong when one of them came up to her "oh look, little emerald is awake." One of the tiny sprites, its hair white with tinted blue streaks said, was a little surprised and enthusiastic.

"Really let me see." Another one of the sprites float over to her, its hair being black but shimmers like a cut obsidian. It almost seemed fluid in a way if that's hard to believe. "She really is Wade come look." The little sprite said just as enthusiastically.

"You two better not be lying to me again." The sprite the other two called Wade said floating over on his bubble. He seemed surprised at first but then it turned to excitement. "Hello, Emerald, my name is Wade. Nice to finally meet you."

Evealyn found it very strange with how chipper these sprite-like creatures seem just by seeing her awake. What's more she doesn't know what they are. She's not all too sure what to say to them either. "Cool it Wade don't scare her." The obsidian haired sprite floats over to Wade giving him a smack on the back of the head.

"Ow, Serene that hurt." Wade said, rubbing the back of his head.

"Good" The one who's now called Serne said and frankly she doesn't look all that sorry and would probably do it again.

"That's enough you two. I think both of you are scaring her." The one with the white hair says trying to break the two up.

"I'm sorry about this, we're just all a little excited to finally meet you. In a conscious state of course." The white haired sprite says and Evealyn just nods slowly, unable to process what is going on.

"What are you all exactly?" Evealyn asks, needing to get that one thing straight first. Not really sure if they're the same as the Flotonics or not.

"Oh we're Aquafine's" Serene says enthusiastically

"Aquafine's? Does you guys have any relation to the Flotonics?" Evealyn questions

"Yes we do, they're our dry lander cousins. Why'd you ask?" Wade says

" Okay not fairies got it. What do you guys do exactly?" Evealyn questions though she can take a wild guess.

"Well we manipulate anything liquid and can form them into solid shapes." The white haired Aquafine says "and please don't compare us to disgusting creatures as fairies again." He says with a smile but she can feel the venom behind his words.

"Man fairies must really be that bad." Evealyn says making a mental note of this.

"The absolute worst abominations to have ever existed." Wade says, leaning back on his bubble. Serne nods with his statement.

Who would have thought the stories she'd read about could be so wrong if both the Flotonics and Aquafine are in absolute agreement on such a subject.

"That's the reason we had to even solidify liquids in the first place" the white haired Aquafine who still hasn't gotten his name says.

"Ah I see, by the way I don't remember getting your name." Evealyn says quite curious.

"Really, I thought I said it,anyway I'm Kel." He says.

"It's short for Kelpin." Wade says

"Wade... do you want to test a new trick I'd learned?" Kel smiles menacingly over at Wade who shrinks behind Seren. "No thank you. I'm good."

"Oh come on, it will be fun I promise." Kel's not so menacing voice says to Wade who continues to cower behind Seren.

"Okay, Kel stop threatening Wade you scaring Evealyn and frankly me as well." Seren says, and she wasn't lying. As she feels her bubble trembling from her rattled nerves. Knowing how intimidating he can be at times.

Kel gives Wade one last totally innocent smile, before switching back to his much calmer demeanor. Evealyn is not sure if she should be surprised or intimidated. Feeling like she just witnessed something she shouldn't have. Flinching when he turns to her. "Sorry, it seems like I overdid it." Kel says much calmer now.

But Evealyn doesn't seem to want to move or make a peep which makes him a little bit sad but understands. "I hate to say this but I guess we should allow you to get some rest " he says.

Wade and Seren are a little hesitant but they won't go against him, they all float up to Evealyn and give her a kiss on her forehead and cheeks. Which made her confused but then she felt her body begin to feel heavy and let out a yawn. "We'll see you again tomorrow night." Kel says as she drifts off to sleep.

"And that's about it, when I woke up they were gone and saw Misty resting on the pillow beside me." Evealyn says, though she wonders what they did to make her sleep so restful.

"I didn't notice any of that." Rae says, having would have sensed them and woke up.

One detail Evealyn failed to mention was that Rae almost woke up at that time. However the Aquafine's didn't want Rae taking up their time with her so Kel sorts kicked his bubble like a soccer ball in her face knocking her out cold. Though she doesn't plan on telling Rae that "you must have been really tired then." Evealyn says with a nervous chuckle.

A/N: Hello my familiars, Kel is really a um... let's just say he'll kill you with a smile and make it look like an accident type. Also what is up with the fairies why they aren't so well liked. Oh well see you all in the next upload.
