"I guess you'll be staying here for the time being." Gojo opened the door for her. She walked inside, her eyes wide as she took it all in. Since Gojo had been living at the school and he obviously couldn't take her there, he rented out his own apartment not too far from the school. "What do you think?"

Everyone in Kosuke's village including her family had all lived pretty frugally. Especially Kosuke's family. They liked to live traditionally and stay as humble as they could be. So Gojo's apartment was a total switch. It was very modern and obviously expensive. Kosuke and Gojo had talked in the car on the way over, and with the little bit he told her she was surprised he was living like this. He was apparently still in high school and only seventeen? Eighteen? Young enough to not be able to afford this.

"Gojo-sama, what do you do for work?" The girl asked.

"I kill curses."

"Right. Curses are the monsters I saw?"

"Yeah." Gojo walked past her and over to the living room. He grabbed the remote and threw it at her. "Here, I have some work I need to do."

Kosuke looked down at the remote. She had never had a tv, nor been allowed to watch anything on one. Her parents thought it was a quick way for her to lose her humility and humbleness. Thinking about her parents made her heart ache.

"No thank you, Gojo-sama." She handed the remote back with a slight bow of her head. "I can be helpful with chores." He was gracious enough to let her stay in his home, she might as well return the favor and help out a bit.

Gojo chuckled. "No, it would be helpful to me if you go sit in front of the tv for a couple of hours."

"What about a book?" Kosuke compromised.

"I don't think I have one." He started to walk into a hallway. "How about you sleep? It was a long drive, huh?"

She shrugged and followed him. Sleeping did sound nice. Perhaps she would wake up from this terrible dream and still be with her family.
