November 22
"Happy birthday Kosuke!" Utahime smiled and handed the girl a present.
Kosuke's eyes widened. "For me?"
"Well it is your birthday, isn't it?"
"Actually it's my birthday." Gojo had his hand resting on Kosuke's back as he guided her to the table. The three of them sat down at a table and waited for a waiter. For Kosuke's birthday dinner she wanted her favorite food, breakfast food, and luckily Gojo had found a place that served breakfast food all day. The place was casual, but that didn't stop Kosuke from having an excuse to dress up. She wore a light pink kimono that complimented the little bit of pink in her irises.
Utahime glared at Gojo. "Do you have to be so annoying all the time?"
Gojo ignored Utahime and continued on with his joke. "Well if it is my birthday, I guess that means this gift is for me." He looked down at Kosuke with a certain look, so she gave in and helped with the joke. She handed the box to Gojo.
"Gojo Satoru! I swear if you open that!"
"Relax Utahime," he handed the present back to Kosuke. "It's all just a joke."
She looked down at the present then back up at Utahime. "Can I open it now?"
Both Utahime and Gojo nodded. Kosuke ripped the wrapping paper away, careful not to make a mess and keep it in one pile. She opened the box, and a gasp escaped her lips.
Utahime carefully studied her reaction. "Do you like it?"
Kosuke pulled the plushie from the box. "It's a frog! They're my favorite!" Out of all the animals in the world to be Kosuke's favorite, to this day Gojo still thought it was strange that frogs were Kosuke's favorite animal.
Gojo and Utahime shared a look and Gojo chuckled. Clearly, he had been the one who supplied this information to Utahime.
"Thank you so much Utahime!" Kosuke hugged the plush.
The waitress came by to get their order. She looked around the table and smiled. "You three make quite a cute family."
Gojo smiled. "Yes, my family is quite cute." He looked across the table at Utahime. "Darling, wouldn't you agree?"
Utahime huffed and rolled her eyes. "Yes, dear." She practically spat the words out. The waitress seemed not to notice Utahime's annoyance and left the table with a smile on her face. She was a bit disappointed however that the handsome albino with the sunglasses was taken.
"Did Gojo already give you his gift?" As soon as the words left Utahime's mouth she looked over at Gojo and realized she said something she shouldn't have. He sent an angry look her way and raised a finger to his lips.
Kosuke saw this interaction out of the corner of her eye, she pretended not to hear and played with the plush in front of her. She could at least try and fake a reaction for Gojo. When Gojo had pushed for an early dinner despite Kosuke not being hungry, she already had an idea that he was planning something behind her back. If she said that she wasn't hungry then Gojo always told her that they could wait. But today he had been in kind of a rush.
Once dinner was done Utahime and Kosuke held each other's hands while walking out of the restaurant. Gojo pushed the door open and ran after them.
"Kosuke." Gojo called for her. He took her scarf and wrapped it around her neck, then plopped her hat on top of her head. "You forgot this inside."
"Oh, I'm sorry." She readjusted her hat, so it wasn't covering her eyes. Gojo had come just in time, large snowflakes began to fall. It first covered the ground then her hat and jacket. She looked up into the dark night watching so much white fall down.
"Kosuke," Utahime lightly grabbed the younger girl's chin. "You have snowflakes stuck on your eyelashes. You look like Gojo."
"Is that such a bad thing?" Gojo looked down at Kosuke. "Ha, you're right Utahime."
Kosuke chuckled and wiped the snowflakes off her eyelashes. "Gojo I don't think I'm pretty enough to look like you."
Both of the adults chuckled but it was Utahime who spoke first. "Don't lower yourself like that Kosuke."
"Utahime." Gojo took a step closer to her. He raised his hand and wiped a thumb over her eye. "You also had some snowflakes in your eyelashes."
Every time Kosuke saw Utahime she always had this sort of stern look on her face, even if she used a softer one for Kosuke. But never had she seen Utahime look as flustered as she did. A couple of times she had seen her blush, or her face contort in disgust, but this was completely different. A light smile crossed Kosuke's face as she watched Utahime awkwardly turn away from Gojo and take a step away. Gojo watched Utahime's reaction with a smirk.
"Come on you two love birds." Kosuke walked ahead of the two, acting like she knew where they were going.
"Kosuke, get that silly idea out of your head." Utahime said as she chased after the girl.
Gojo laughed and chased after them, not wanting to miss out on the fun. "Come on you two." He said when he easily caught up to them (thanks to his long legs and how short the girls were). They stopped running and walked back to get into the car to take them home.
The car ride was mostly silent. When they made it to the apartment Gojo opened Kosuke's door and grabbed her hand. "Careful it's slippery."
"Thank you." Again, just like the first time, neither Kosuke nor Gojo let go of the other's hand. Utahime studied Gojo with a smile and a light blush covering her face. She pulled her phone out and snapped a quick picture of them.
"Okay Kosuke, close your eyes." Gojo said once they were just outside of his apartment door. She laughed nervously and did as she was told. Gojo pulled his glasses off his face and put them on Kosuke's. "For extra protection."
The door opened with a creak that was barely audible. There was a shuffling of shoes leading Kosuke to believe that Utahime walked in front of them. Her heart beat rapidly in her chest. With her free hand, she reached for the ends of her hair, twisting the frayed ends around her finger. Possibilities on possibilities ran through her head. She had a small idea about how rich Gojo was so the sky was the limit. But Kosuke also wasn't his kid so would he really spend that much on her?
"Okay Kosuke." The apartment door closed behind them and Gojo took the glasses off. "You can open your eyes now."
Her jaw dropped and her eyes widened. "No way!" She ran into Gojo, also tackling him down in the process just from surprise. "Thank you so much! Thank you, Satoru!"
Gojo patted her head. "What are you hugging me for? If you don't like it enough to use it, then I'll return it."
Kosuke ran away from Gojo and to her new present. She picked up the microphone and hummed a small tune in it to test it. Utahime was already queuing up a song and taking the other microphone. Gojo sat down on the couch and put his glasses back on.
The song Utahime chose was one of her favorites at the moment, which meant it was also Kosuke's favorite at the moment, a silly little pop song that easily got stuck in people's heads. Once that song was over the two of them did a couple more before Utahime handed her microphone to Gojo. He sighed and took it, only agreeing to sing a song if he got to choose it. Kosuke gladly accepted.
Kosuke stayed up way past her bedtime, but it's not like the two adults, Gojo and Utahime could say anything. By the time Kosuke was sure she was going to get yelled at for being up too late the two of them were already asleep on the couch next to each other. Utahime rested her head in the crook of Gojo's neck, while his head rested on her head. Kosuke chuckled and took a picture of the two.
A/N:
Pray for me. I have to take a test that I'm definitely not prepared for.
