A/N:

I know this isn't the best drawing, I'm still learning and practicing, but I mostly just wanted to show the differences between the two.

~Heian Era~

Sukuna 14, Kosuke 16

A year went by before Ryomen saw Kosuke again. Instead of thinking about her, and how much he missed her, he busied himself with work instead. Kosuke's parents watched on with concern, but they were happy for the help. They were worried things would get harder after Kosuke left, but with his extra help there wasn't much to worry about.

Kosuke regularly sent letters, which was a sigh of relief to all of them. She wrote about how well she was doing, and how she was making a lot of friends with other sorcerers. She wrote about how well her jujutsu training was going and how she was learning so much. But that was just the letters Kosuke sent to her parents. In the letters she sent to Ryomen she didn't talk about herself much. She mostly just asked about Ryomen and how he was doing, along with her parents. Ryomen never responded to any of her letters.

One fall night while Ryomen and her parents slept, their peace was disturbed. The silence that surrounded them was suddenly cut through by terror and blood.

Ryomen first heard the footsteps. They were heavy footsteps and quick too. Then it was the clacking of armor and metal. He was quick to pick his head up and look out the window. Soldiers surrounded the house; each one held a weapon in his hand. The one that seemed to be their leader held a torch. One of his men held a bow and arrow. He held the tip of the arrow to the torch, igniting the arrow. Before Ryomen understood what happened, the arrow made contact with the roof.

Ryomen was quick to find his feet. He needed to get Kosuke's parents and get them out before the whole house burnt down. Above him the fire had spread through the whole roof. It would only take a moment for the rest of the house to catch.

"Ryomen!" Kosuke's mother yelled for him. Both of them were heading towards Ryomen. The three of them hung low, avoiding the smoke as they moved their way out of the house.

"As soon as we get out of the house, run." Ryomen ordered.

"Why?" Her father asked.

"There's soldiers outside, they were the ones who set the house on fire. They mean to kill us."

The three of them stopped in front of the door.

"What are we going to do? We can't all escape if they have weapons."

"I'll hold them off, you two run." Ryomen opened the door for them, he was the first to walk out, trying to block Kosuke's parents from the soldiers.

"Don't let anyone escape!" The leader snapped.

Ryomen followed one of the soldier's eyesight, landing on her parents. He rushed towards the soldier. Even if he didn't have any weapons, he would stop anyone from hurting the couple. He deflected the man's sword then punched him in the face. He ran towards the next soldier that started to target them.

An arrow pierced through one of Ryomen's biceps. He winced from the pain, stopping for just a moment to adjust to the pain. Another arrow hit him, this time in his leg. This stopped him completely. He fell into the mud. Ryomen wasn't as strong as he would be one day, he was still just a child. A child that could do nothing as he watched Kosuke's parents die.

The katana came down onto her father's head first, taking it off in one swing. Kosuke's mother let out a blood curdling scream as she watched her husband's head tumble from his body and into the mud below. A warm gush of blood sprayed from his neck. Her pain was short lived, when her head was also soon cut off.
