Day 1
Oliver sleeps peacefully in his bed, having one of the best sleeps he's ever had. The soft blankets and fluffy pillows make him feel like he's floating on a cloud.
Then, a knock comes at his door, interrupting his dream. Oliver stirs but doesn't wake up just yet. The door opens slowly with a creak, and Oliver finally wakes up.
A maiden walks over and opens the curtains, letting the bright sunlight flood the room. Oliver squints his eyes and quickly covers his face with his hands to block the sun's harsh rays.
"Good morning, Oliver," the castle keeper Wendy greets with a warm smile. "Breakfast is ready downstairs." She straightens the curtains and looks back at him with a gentle expression before she turns and leaves the room, closing the door softly behind her.
He watches her leave, feeling a bit groggy. Then he turns his head back to his bed and rubs his eyes, trying to wake up fully. He lets out a groan, wishing he could stay in bed just a little longer.
Later, Oliver walks out of his room wearing the clothes provided for him in the closet. The outfit is simple but clean, with a neat shirt and trousers that fit him well.
Sebastian comes walking by and sees Oliver. He tries to hold back a laugh but can't help it. "Wow, you dressed...decent," Sebastian says with a smirk as he crosses his arms.
Oliver rolls his eyes, feeling a bit annoyed. "Well, these are the clothes that were in the closet," he replies. "Besides, I do not have the patience to bicker with you right now." He starts walking down the hallway, Sebastian following him behind.
"So, what's the plan today?" Oliver asks, trying to change the subject. "Are you just going to go find him—"
"Don't need to find him," Sebastian interrupts. "Attached to the letter was his place's address."
Oliver throws his arms up in exasperation and rolls his eyes. "Of course there is," he sighs, feeling frustrated. He runs his fingers through his hair, trying to think clearly. "Well, what are you going to do? Are you just going to tell Momma that you have to meet up with someone and then just leave us?"
"No idea," Sebastian admits, his tone softening. "I haven't gotten that far into the plan yet.
Oliver looks at his brother blankly, partly because he is very tired and partly because he can't believe Sebastian dragged him and their mother into this situation. He rubs his eyes again, trying to wake up more fully.
They reach the kitchen and are greeted by servants carrying plates of breakfast for them. Sebastian and Oliver are in awe, their eyes widening for many reasons.
The dining hall is humongous and literally glimmering. The table shines and sparkles due to the sunlight peeking through the dome above them. The grand chandelier hanging from the ceiling casts a dazzling light over everything. The food in front of them looks delicious. They'd never seen such an elaborate spread before, considering they never had the materials to make such luxurious meals.
Oliver keeps his eyes on the food as he sits down and leans over to talk to his brother. "Sebastian, this food looks deli—" he cuts himself off when he actually looks at his brother.
Sebastian is already digging into the food at an incredible speed, as if he hasn't been fed in eons. He makes pleased noises as he chews and swallows the food, completely ignoring the utensils presented to him. Bits of food fall from his mouth, but he doesn't seem to care.
Oliver has one of his eyebrows arched, his mouth agape as he looks at his brother, almost in disgust. "Sebastian," he calls out blankly, his voice filled with disapproval.
