Two Years Ago
Sebastian and Zach walk through the enchanted woods, hand in hand. The air is filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and the leaves on the trees shimmer with a magical glow. Zach is a giggling mess, his laughter echoing through the trees.
Zach sighs, his eyes sparkling with joy. "Y'know, Darren is so fun to hang around with."
Sebastian smiles and nods, squeezing Zach's hand gently. "Yeah, he is. I especially love it when he's showcasing his magic for us. I think he's getting better."
"Me too," Zach agrees, his voice full of admiration. "His mom's a witch AND he possesses magic? He has the best life right now."
"No seriously!" Sebastian says, his excitement matching Zach's. "He's getting better and better by the day. Granted he mainly uses it for pranks but at least he knows how to use it."
Zach giggles, a twinkle in his eye. "Yeah, that's true. I think Darren will be the most powerful wizard in all of the kingdom."
"I think so too," Sebastian agrees, his voice filled with conviction.
He stops in their tracks and looks at Zach, his eyes soft and full of love. He pulls Zach's hand up to his lips and kisses it gently. "Promise me we'll never depart, my love."
Zach's face turns a bright pink, and he giggles, his heart fluttering. "I promise."
Sebastian smiles and leans over, his heart racing. He kisses Zach, and Zach returns it, holding Sebastian's face tenderly. The moment feels magical as if the enchanted woods are blessing their love.
Present Day
"Sebastian, why didn't you tell me you met someone before the prince? And why am I now hearing about this?" Oliver asks, resting his arm on one of the boxes he put down on the counter of their shop.
Sebastian sighs "Well because during the time, he and I really didn't want people to know about us. We were together for one and a half months before we split and after that, there really wasn't a need to tell people."
Oliver squints his eyes and pinches the bridge of his nose "Ok, understand that but why didn't you tell me? I'm your brother?"
"Well, that's because I was kinda figuring myself out at the time, Oliver," Sebastian quips, his tone a bit defensive.
"Sebastian, you two were together for a month and a half! What do you mean 'figuring yourself out'?" Oliver exclaims, his voice rising with frustration and disbelief.
"I did it for fun!" Sebastian admits, his voice trembling slightly.
Oliver furrows his brows, confusion etched on his face. "What?"
Sebastian breathes heavily, his emotions overwhelming him. He turns around, trying to hide his face from his brother. Tears form in his eyes, and he sniffles, wiping them away before turning back to face Oliver.
"I...I didn't know if I was attracted to maidens or lads," he pauses, struggling to find the right words. "I was confused because my life until then I was attracted to maidens. But when I met...Z...suddenly I started to feel...different."
"Being around him gave me butterflies in my stomach, and my face would go red just by seeing him," Sebastian continues, his voice softening. "I offered to make things go further with us, and he agreed. And— this is really bad to say— but I wanted to test him out for a bit, see what I was into," he pauses again, swallowing the lump in his throat.
"I didn't plan to be in love with him, and I definitely didn't plan on seeing him for that long. It just... happened." Sebastian's voice is filled with regret and he looks at Oliver, hoping for some understanding.
