Summer love

Week off and training

Lando and I were back in Monaco for a week before we headed to the Netherlands for the next Grand Prix, after our argument in Belgium, Lando and I finally made up, he knew nothing was going on between me and Carlos...well nothing in that way anyways.

"What do you want to do today?" Lando asked, as he handed me a cup of coffee. I shrugged, "I don't mind babe, I do need to pop out for a few hours later this evening to record a new single with Scooter." I explained, he nodded, "not a problem my love, do you want to go for a swim? Or we could go shopping? What would you like to do?" He asked.

"We could go swimming and have a nice picnic on the beach?" I suggested, he smiled and nodded. "That would be great, I'll head to the shops and grab some stuff for the picnic, do you want anything specific?" He asked as he grabbed his keys.

"Ooooo I would love some meats, cheese, crackers and sun dried tomatoes with mozzarella." I smiled, he nodded, "okay baby, I'll see you soon." He smiled and kissed me on the head before leaving. I sighed, and ran my hands through my hair, lying to him feels like torture, I wish I could just tell him that I'm the driver and that I'm the one that keeps making him DNF and explain why, but I can't and it's killing me.

My phone started vibrating in my pocket I quickly grabbed it, it was my dad.

R: Ciao padre
D: Ciao mon amour, va tutto bene?
R: Sì, odio semplicemente mentirgli
D: Lo so, mon amore, Ma stai facendo questo per proteggerlo, comunque non dimenticare cha stasera ti alleni
R: Lo so, papà, ma mi odierà quando lo scoprirà, e sì, ce la farò io e Lando usciremo insieme e ci vedremo stasera.
D: Beh, buona giornata Maria, divertiti e ci vediamo stasera, arrivederci tesoro
D: Arrivederci papà

I hung up the phone and sighed, I finished my coffee and headed towards the bedroom to pack a bag ready for the beach. I grabbed two towels, sun cream, AirPods, my song book and my sunglasses and popped them in my bag.

"Hey baby I'm back." Lando called, "I'm in the bedroom." I yelled. He walked into the room, "you okay baby you seem stressed?" He questioned and wrapped his arm around me, I nodded, "yeah sorry, it's just a lot at the moment with my music, trying to write and album and release new singles. Just really stressful but I'll be fine, was the shop busy?" I questioned. He shrugged, "it wasn't too bad, let's prep our picnic and then we can head to the beach and you can finally relax a little." He smiled and gently massaged my shoulders, "ugh that sounds great." I groaned. He chuckled, he grabbed the bag off the bed and brought it through to the kitchen.

"So I've got cheese, crackers, meats, tomatoes, sandwiches, crisps, fruit bowls and water." He smiled, i grinned softly, "Amazing, thank you baby, shall we make a move im dying for some sun and to get in that water." I said, Lando chuckled, "sure let's get going."

We headed down the the car, I was so excited just to spend the day with him alone. We drove down the beautiful roads of Monaco, I couldn't suppress how free I felt, no Alpine, no f1, no drama just me and the love of my life. We got to the beach, it wasn't crowded which was lovely, I don't think Lando and I want to be bothered when we are on our break, so it being quiet made it even more special.

We led down the towels on the sand and both of us stripped off into our swimwear, Lando set up the food and we ate, I was so hungry I couldn't wait.

"So how did the conversation go with your parents, I know I should've asked when you told me I was just annoyed with how my season is going at the moment." He explained.

I paused, I haven't spoke to my adoptive parents since that night on the boat, but I had to lie I couldn't tell Lando that I've found my real dad and that we've built a relationship just yet. "Yeah we spoke, I told them that I will forgive them but not yet. And I also told them I'd like to know about my biological parents and they said they'll tell me when I next see them." I explained.
