Chapter 10

Emmi's pov

I went home with Ms. Katy and when we walked in Shawn was there.

"I have to go back to work." Ms. Katy said. Then she left me with Shawn.

"Sit." he said pointing at the couch. I did as told.

"So first question. Where did you go?" he asked.

"Maya's school." I said shrugging.

"You don't skip school and then go to another school!" he said.

I laughed, "That one was Auggie's idea." I said.

"Now, why did you skip school?" he asked.

"Ava was being mean so I convinced Auggie to skip with me." I said.

"Well I would punish you, but that will be dealt with tonight. But I will tell you skipping school is wrong and that was a dumb idea. I've done it before, it helps nothing!" he said.

I nodded, "I'm sorry." I said.

"Me too. You disappointed a lot of people today." he said. I looked down.

Auggie's pov

After Dinner

"Ok how should this be dealt with?" Shawn asked.

"Well the mastermind is going to be punished more." Katy said.

"I say how about 2 weeks for Auggie and 1 month for Emmi?" Topanga said.

"No there need to be more." Cory said.

"3 weeks Auggie." Cory said.

"1 month and a half Emmi." Katy said.

"A month and a half!?" Emmi asked. Everyone stared at her and she looked down.

"That will work." she said. I felt guilt rush over me.

"Oh Auggie!" a voice said. I looked over and saw my conscience. "Look what you're doing to her! That should be you! She took the blame for you and now look at what postion she's in!" it said.

"It wasn't Emmi it was me!" I yelled out. Everyone looked over at me.

"Auggie what are you doing?" Emmi asked me.

"Emmi just took the blame because she felt like she had to. And I let her, but I felt bad. It wasn't Emmi who caused this. Believe it or not Emmi tried to stop me." I said. Everyone looked at me with wide eyes.

"Auggie what are you doing?" Emmi asked me.

"You did nothing. It was all me!" I said.

"You're risking to take the month and a half for me?" he asked.

"Of course." I said.

"Thanks Auggie!" she said. Then we hugged.

At the end of the day, I got a huge punishment and Emmi only got 2 weeks. I still felt bad for putting Emmi in that position. But luckily she got a smaller punishment, so I didn't feel as bad. I still felt bad though. I have to make it up to her someway. But how?
