We walked into the lecture hall and took our seats. The professor arrived shortly after and began the lecture. I couldn't help but glance at Y/n from time to time; it was hard to take my eyes off her. She seemed more at ease now, but seeing her sitting next to Wonwoo didn't help my nerves.
Time skips,
"Alright, class," the professor said, ending the lecture, "We're going to start working on a project today that will count as a major part of your internal marking. It's a group project, and I'm assigning the groups myself to ensure there is a balance of skills and perspectives."
I glanced at Y/n, who was sitting a few rows ahead with Wonwoo, hoping she wouldn't be grouped with Ji-hye and those three girls. The professor started calling out names and group assignments.
Jungkook woke up from his half-asleep state, his eyes wide with panic. "What? A group project? Why can't we choose our own groups?" he pouted. "I can't even spare a glance at these people, let alone work with them."
Jimin chuckled and nudged him. "Or is it that when you work with us, you don't have to do any work?" he teased.
Jungkook crossed his arms and huffed. "That's not true! I just... prefer working with people I know."
"Sure, Kook," I said, trying to suppress a smile. "We'll see if the professor is that considerate."
As the professor kept assigning groups, Jungkook looked really stressed. He fidgeted in his seat and kept glancing at me and Jimin with a worried look.
"Don't worry, Kook," Jimin said with a grin. "Maybe you'll get lucky and end up with one of us."
"I hope so," Jungkook muttered.
Finally, the professor called out our names. "Group 5: Kim Taehyung, Jeon Jungkook, Park Jimin and Yoon Y/N."
Jungkook's face lit up with excitement. "Yes! We're in the same group!" He fist-pumped the air, then suddenly froze as he realized the fourth name. "Wait, Y/N too?"
My eyes widened in surprise. I looked over at Y/N, who seemed equally shocked. Our eyes met, and I felt that same electric current run through me. Jungkook and Jimin exchanged glances.
"Well, this is what I wanted," I muttered under my breath.
Jimin nudged me, whispering, "Looks like your Dawn found her way to you."
I smiled. "Yeah, it looks like it."
I was feeling excited and nervous, but on the other hand, Jungkook was even more scared than before. "Y/N? Oh no, I hope she won't kill me before the project ends," he groaned, burying his face in his hands.
Jimin chuckled and patted Jungkook's back. "Don't worry, Kook. Just be yourself and try not to panic. You'll survive."
Jungkook lifted his head, his eyes filled with mock tears. "Why me? Why does it have to be me? I'm doomed!" he whined dramatically.
