I sighed, nodding. "I saw her with one of those phones—the kind that only Shadow Scales workers have, the ones who... serve customers. It's not a phone you can just buy anywhere. She's gotten involved with them, Tae. And I don't think she realizes how dangerous this really is."

Taehyung clenched his fists as he took in the news. "But why? Why did she do that? She should have talk to us at least."

Y/N's POV

I was sitting in the dim, cold room, clutching my handbag tightly, my heart was pounding slowly but painfully as I stared at my phone in Dong Wook's hand. He and his group were smirking, flipping through my messages, invading my privacy like it meant nothing. I didn't have much in there—just family contacts and a few relatives—but they were searching for something they could use against me to manipulate me AGAIN.

Dong Wook's smirk widened as he tapped on a voicemail. He held the phone to his ear, then chuckled darkly, looking over at his friends. "Hey, listen to this, everyone. This one's interesting."

"Y/N—"

My eyes widened in horror as I heard the voice. "Wait!" I blurted out, trying to reach forward. "Please, don't—give that back. You have no right—"

"Oh, we have every right now," Joonsae smiled holding my arm tightly and pulling me back.

While Dong wook raised an eyebrow and stop the voice mail.

I swallowed hard. "Keep him out of this... You promised you wouldn't hurt him or my family if I agreed to your terms."

But they still continued playing the voice mail, and Taehyung's voice echoed through the room.

"Y/N, it's Taehyung. Please call me when you get this. I... I'm worried about you."

Joonsae mocked, "Romeo is worried for his Juliet."

"I remembered a few days ago when they first approached me, claiming they had Taehyung and could hurt him anytime. I believed them—I couldn't take the risk. Even though he seemed like someone hiding in the shadows of his own demons, he was the first person who made college life bearable. I don't know why, but I felt this undeniable urge to protect him, even if it meant taking the fall for him. If something happened to Silas or my family, I'd never forgive myself. So, I stayed silent, doing what they wanted.

But today, at college, when Jungkook told me Taehyung was safe, I was assured that he was fine. Otherwise, Jungkook wouldn't be so calm right now. Everything changed in that moment. They had been lying all along, just to keep me under their control. Now that I knew the truth, I wasn't going to stay here anymore.

I clenched my jaw. "Taehyung has nothing to do with this. Leave him out of it! I know he's not with you, so stop threatening me using his name. I won't help you anymore. Stop invading my privacy and stay out of my life from now on."
