"Liam, is Becca back yet?" Jessica called from the kitchen. She was helping Leanne with the burgers and salad. Niall was sitting with me in the living room. He didn't want to look too needy of her. "Nah, she should be back soon though!" I called back. I turned back to Niall and Louis. "So, what you are saying is that you think that Jake is going to try something?" Louis asked. We had been talking about Jake's behavior earlier. None of the guys seemed to notice anything strange. They said that it was just the way they were together. I nodded, "You heard him say that he came up here to steal her. He was all over her." Louis laughed and I got defensive, "Listen, mate. You are probably reading too much into this. We all see the way you and Becca are together. She doesn't have eyes for anybody else." I shook my head then got up and walked away. I needed to cool down.
I ran down to the lake and jumped in. The cool water calmed me down but I could still see the way that he was looking at her. I didn't like. She should be back by now. Dinner is in an hour. She's not usually gone for that long. She isn't replying to my texts either.
What is wrong with me? I sound like a needy, little girl.
Jacob is what's wrong. I can't think of anyone besides Becca now that I know she's shopping with a guy like him.
I swam a few more laps then stopped. I wanted to go get ready for dinner. Maybe if I dressed nice, Becca would want to hold my hand instead of his. I knew it was mean to think something like that, Becca's not that kind of girl but I was angry.
No, not angry.
Protective.
Protective and jealous.
I was getting out of the water when I looked up and Becca walked up to her mom at the barbeque holding her bag with the dress. I watched her. She was standing next to Jake but it looked casual. Her gaze lifted up and she watched me walking out of the water and up to her. I was still angry but she looked so sweet and I relaxed a tiny bit.
Becca's POV
"What a long day that was! I'm so glad that we finally found the right dress! I know Liam will love it!" I exclaimed as Jake and I walked up to the house. He smiled down at me, "Of course he will love it, he loves you so he will love anything that you are wearing! That dress is perfect for you which will make him love it and you even more." I laughed, Jake's so funny. We entered the house and I couldn't wait to see Liam. I didn't even go set my bag down. "Niall, where is Liam?" I asked. He smiled so sweetly at me as Jessica walked up to him, "He's outside in the water but before you go down there, your mom wants to talk to you about Jake's plans." I hugged him and whispered, "You two are so cute together." before running down to the barbeque.
"Hey, mom. I heard you wanted to talk to me?" She looked up from the propane tank, "Yeah, I was thinking that Jake could stay in the spare bedroom but all the boy's stuff is in there so maybe you and Jake could move it over to the den. We don't really use it anyways." I nodded, "Yeah, sure. The blankets and pillows are in the hallway closet right?" She smiled teasingly at me, "Yes, you are so smart. Some people might think they were in the bathroom or the living room but not you. I have a genius for a daughter." I laughed at her mockery then something pulled my eyes down to the lake.
Liam was getting out of the water. His shorts clung to his muscular legs and the water dripped from his hair and skin. The sunlight caught the water drops making him glisten. His face was hard which made him even sexier and his hair was spiked up in different sized tufts. He must have tried to shake the water out of his hair. My heart started racing as I watched him moving. "Girl, you have one really gorgeous boy friend!" Jake admitted. I looked at him and chuckled. I didn't expect that from Jake. "I admit that I do. I got lucky." Jake shouldered me, "Can I get some of that luck over here?" Jake was having relationship troubles.
