Well isn't this just wonderful, I turn my head back to the door double checking his actually left while my head turns back to Isabel she looks nervous, scared even and apart of me hates that, that I judged her.
"So um deputy"
I hear Isabels shaky voice and it cuts though my thoughts and now I'm almost nervous myself but I steel myself.
"Didn't I say you can just call me Scarlet issy"
"Issy?"
I smirked, chuckling.
"Yes, issy, do you not like the nickname I can-"
"No, no. I like it"
I can see her smile grow no longer seeming like a fake on put on for show, was she not use to this? Nicknames? having friends? She seems like a sweet girl.
"Well I'm looking forward to working with you, but I must warn you of the risks"
She nods at me.
"I know, I Know"
She must have heard it before probably from the captain giving her warning after warning. I don't say I blame him, my father would likely say the same. And now I'm chuckling smiling a little brighter.
"I know you do kiddo, but it's better safe then sorry right?"
We both nod at the other and now my eyes move over to the clock, twelve ten I sigh why can't we just get this damn mission over with I turn to Isabel again her body language tells me she's calming herself, or trying to.
"I get it"
I say to her now I'm walking forward to have her face to face with me and putting my right hand on her right shoulder, there tense and I start rubbing it slowly to get the tension ease up, even a little.
"First mission nerves are hard and I'm sure your hormones aren't helping you are they?"
I don't wait for an answer before I continue.
"But I promise, your going to be just fine, you have nothing to worry about, your a bright kid I'm sure you can handle this"
"How"
She stays quiet for a second before she continues.
"How did you handle it, your first mission I mean"
I removed my hand off her shoulder then I cross my arms together.
"Well"
I said thinking off it was almost funny to me.
"My first mission was when I was age...seventeen maybe eighteen, I was a soldier, I'd been training since sixteen but I'd trained myself even before I joined the sudria army"
A lie, one of many.
"It was more a patrol mission then anything we just walked around the forest outside the kingdom for hours but honestly it felt like days, but I promise not all missions are like that there usually filled with battles and action and A LOT of detective work but I think that you'll be able to handle that and maybe, I could help you sometime"
Her smile widened, good.
"So what do you say, issy?"
She nods, quite quickly.
"Good, now are we going to stand here or you wanna sit down?"
