This is it, my first mission to say I'm excited is a understatement, my heart racing, my father finally agreed after months of begging, he's letting me help on a mission and I get to work with the youngest deputy captain in all the kingdom! I've also heard she's an engineer too. I tie my messy brown hair back into a low ponytail before looking back at the mirror, my hazel eyes staring into my reflection and my stupid smile to bright like always. I've been an aspiring detective since I was twelve, a little young I know and I made my first break though in a case at just fourteen. Fourteen! I'm getting ahead of myself aren't I? I look outside my window the sky as blue as ever the sun so bright it feel blinding, I started getting ready putting on just the right outfit our kingdom's colours sliver and gold, nothing too fancy, a t-shirt with golden patter and a golden belt and black leggings before heading out to the quarters, to say the building is big is a massive understatement, covered in the kingdom's colours. Knights, medics, or just random people, it's almost overwhelming but I keep my feet moving, I have to. As I walk though the halls I can't help but notice the stares I'm getting, I'm used to this and i'm already hating it.
"Shouldn't that kid be at school?"
I heard a knight whisper, and leered at me but my head turns to the group but my gaze turns again when I hear a voice
"Isabel, right?"
The voice is a lower females and I couldn't help but notice two things, her bright red hair and her badge on her navy blue shirt with some rose gold colour in the middle. A deputy captain. She's my fathers deputy, his right hand man, or woman in this case. I nervously nodded trying to keep my cool I need to
"Yea-yeah, that's me"
"Your father has a lot to say about you"
I almost fully froze in place, she looked over me, studying me, examining me for any weakness, any error in my posture, this girl is only a few years older than me, and yet I'm terrified. Now her gaze finds my eyes she needs to look down a little but she gives me a warm smile
"I'm Scarlet Thomson, deputy captain of the unit your father leads but, judging by your face, you must've already known that"
She chuckled lightly, clearly trying to make me feel less afraid, It isn't helping
"I could have guessed that"
"Without being a detective prodigy?"
She smriked, seems my father runs his mouth, just great.
"Is that really what he called me?"
She chuckled again, nodding.
"Very much, but regardless, we have a mission to start planning, my only question is where are the others?"
She kept talking but I zoned out, there's something about her, the way she walks, talks, her mannerisms, they're oddly unique I'm not fully sure how to explain it, intuition is never usually wrong but I'm getting the feeling it is right now. She gestures a hand for me to follow her and I follow close behind, I can only guess we're heading to my dads office which, we are. I'm faced with a brown door with the words FORD labelled on it in the middle, she opens the door and steps to the side.
"After you"
She says smiling at me, I slowly walk in to be faced with my father looking more serious than normal, or was this how he always was at work? I didn't know but would soon find out.
He stood up from his desk giving me a light smile for a second but it quickly fades when his eyes meet Scarlets, he ran a hand though his hair that matched my own curly waves, before he cleared his throat
"I thought she would get lost, thank god you found her"
"Calm down, captain. if you had enough faith to let her go on this mission you must trust her enough to make sure she doesn't get lost"
She faced me and smiled again, I'm warming up to her a little, is that good?
"Yeah dad"
