if noya didn't confess now, he was never going to.

his heart grew heavier and heavier each day, having to see the look on y/n's face, not knowing that noya was lying to him. faking this friendship and their developing relationship for money.

he knew he told himself he would going to tell y/n very soon that night when he stayed up in the late hours of the night contemplating. but he never got to it and got distracted.

and he was getting distracted with the very person that he was lying to. the line between having real feelings for y/n and just being associated with him was blurring, and it had been for a while now.

he didn't feel like he was putting on a show anymore, it felt real. it scared him.

it scared him, so he needed to end it as soon as possible.

their next hangout was decided to be at a local arcade. there, noya was preparing himself the whole day to confess and tell y/n this was part of a bet.

even though he knew what he was going to say would probably hurt y/n in ways he's never been hurt before, he had to be honest. he hoped that y/n could forgive him and they could still be friends.

their day at the arcade was fun, to put it simply. well, lately life has been super fun for y/n, he can't remember the last time he felt like this. whenever he was with noya he felt this euphoria that he wanted to latch onto and never let go of.

since coming to terms with his feelings for noya, and seeing how well this day was turning out, he decided he was finally going to confess to noya. he hoped that even if noya didn't feel the same, they could still be friends.

he was really nervous, this would be the first time in his life he would be confessing to someone. what if he messed up? what if he said the wrong thing? what if noya ended up hating him? that would be the worst outcome!

but, his pushed his worries aside and decided to face his fears when the right moment came.

after a particularly intense round of air hockey which y/n lost in, they found themselves catching their breath on a nearby bench away from the crowd of people still playing games.

the sky was getting dark, and the stars started to twinkle in the sky.

"that was fun," y/n remarked, fanning himself as he exhaled, looking up at the sky. "wished they had an ac in there, though."
