Chapter 13: Preparations

Alastor and Lucifer got back to the hotel around the same time as everyone else and Charlie started to go over the plan for day of. While her and Vaggie were out to go get their outfits they had also put up advertisements for the party and set a date for it, it would be in two days and for the most part over the course of said two days Charlie was thinking of ideas of things to do or have for the party. It was slightly concerning how much she was obsessed with trying to be sure it would be perfect but nobody expected any less from her since she did that all the time, still in the lobby just the same as when Lucifer came to the hotel for the first time. Alastor on the other hand was in his room more often than normal, the only person who was concerned for the most part was Lucifer since most people still weren't really convinced they could trust him. He was still out of his room for the most part but usually even when most were out for whatever reason he would still be downstairs yet over the past few days he had decided to go to his room at times like that... alone

The day of the party had arrived and the hotel residents were starting to decorate the hotel a bit, while this was happening Lucifer decided to go and ask Charlie if she had noticed anything off about Alastor recently

L: Hey Charlie can I talk to you for a sec?

C: Oh sure! what's up Dad?

He hesitated before asking, what if he was just overreacting? No... there was DEFINITELY something up with Alastor, he had been acting off since the morning he came up with the party and something about him "Just being pissed with Adam" didn't sit right with him.

L: Have you noticed anything off about Alastor? It feels like he's been trying to distance himself from everyone lately and I'm worried if he's okay or not...

C: Hmm.. you can never really tell with him... maybe you could check on him? I'm sure he's here somewhere

L: He went out to cannibal town to get our outfits for tonight, he said he might talk to Rosie for a bit while he's out so he might not be here for a bit

C: Well at least we don't need any extra hands for prep right now!

Charlie tried to lighten the mood and failed, realising this after Lucifer's eyes drifted to the side and his expression changed from concern more to a mix of sadness and worry. She gave him a hug before speaking up again, still holding him tight

C: I'm sure he's okay Dad... I mean maybe he's been busy with something who knows! You can talk to him tonight since then he can't really leave!

Lucifer smiled as they both pulled away from the embrace

L: Thanks Char...
'I hope he's okay...'

The day was going by painfully slowly for Lucifer as he not so patiently waited for Alastor to get back. He was just counting the hours until the party,

Finally Alastor got back from Cannibal Town after what had felt like ages, sadly he couldn't confront him in the lobby since they still didn't want people to know about them so after Alastor went upstairs he followed soon after just like they had planned so they could still be discreet about the fact they got the outfits together. Once he made it upstairs and into Alastor's room he immediately spoke up.

L: Al we need to talk.

Alastor paused, leaving the garment bags laid out on the bed instead of opening them like he was about to

A: About?

L: Well you've been in your room a lot lately and I don't know I just wanted to make sure you were okay is all...

A: Oh you have nothing to worry about Luci I am fine, I've just been a but busy over the past few days because of something I am planning

Lucifer wasn't buying that for a second. not only had he been "busy" but he had also just seemed a bit off in general, what really bothered him was when his ears had randomly drooped down the other day... it was definitely not because of Adam. He was about to bring all of that up but Alastor was able to speak quick enough to change the subject. He pushed Lucifer's clothes for the party into his arms

A: You should go get dressed! The party starts in 45 minutes after all~

L: Oh uh alright

He headed to his room to get ready. He took the outfit out of the bag and put it on, it was a gold vest with flower designs on it and a white collar and buttons, a white undershirt with slightly puffy sleeves, white dress pants and a black bow tie. He fixed up his hair and what not and headed downstairs to the lobby again. Alastor headed down at about the same time wearing a red suit with black lapels that on the left side had a rose attached to it. under the suit he had a white button up shirt with a black vest on with dark red outlines and buttons and black pants, he also had a bow tie but his was a similar red to the colour outlining his vest. It suited him quite well and for a moment Lucifer forgot about his worries just taking in the sight of him. He had his hair put up in a small ponytail and Lucifer liked it a lot more than he thought he would. Suddenly his thoughts were cut off as Charlie called out to everyone

C: Everything is ready a bit early sooo we are going to open the doors now!

The second she opened the door people started coming in and Charlies face lit up with pure joy at seeing this Alastor couldn't help but smile a bit more genuinely then normal after seeing how Lucifer had looked at him and how happy Charlie was. He didn't think too much on the thing weighing down on his mind lately right now because he thought that with this many people he would probably be safe to just talk with Lucifer and not be seen by anyone for the most part and since it was a party he knew he could get a bit drunk to maybe ease the thoughts of it all...
