Melody's Pov:

I run into the clothing store and pause to get a breath of air. I notice a store clerk staring at me weirdly from my sudden barge into the store. I ignore them and just casually head to the dressing rooms, as if nothing happened. Once I get there, I go to the dressing room that I was previously using and mentally pray that nobody is using it right now. Once I get there, I find that the door to the dressing room is wide open and is left, just like how I did when I was last in here. Then I spot my phone on a stool in the dressing room. I guess I left it there after I took a picture in the mirror of an outfit I liked. I let out a sigh of relief and grab my phone. I mumble to myself, "I hope no other inconvenience happens today. This is supposed to be a fun outing for my brother, after all."

I quickly make my way to leave the store and calmy walk my way back to where I left Zak. I quietly hum to myself as I make my way back. After a bit, I finally catch sight of Zak in the distance. But I furrow my eyebrows once I notice that I see him talking- no- quarreling with someone else. I quickly figure out that that person is Quackity. Seriously... what does that guy have to say now? Probably something stupid since they're quarreling. Can't he just leave my brother alone?

I pick up my pace a bit so that I can stop whatever Quackity is doing right now. Out of nowhere, Quackity pushes Zak, making him fall onto the road. What the- Now I can feel some anger starting to brew up in me. I basically start jogging up to them. This guy really has the guts to do such things in public, no less. Jeez- does he really have no shame? I open my mouth to scream out at Quackity. How dare he do that to my bro-

Then my voice gets caught in my throat, because that's when I catch sight of a car that is showing no signs of stopping and is driving towards- My nerves spike up, and my instincts cause my body to start full-on running. Please God- no. I catch sight of Zak sitting up and seemingly oblivious to the car heading straight towards him. I open my mouth and scream out, "ZAK!!"

But it's too late. I don't think he even got to hear me. Because the car already hit him. It drove straight over him and didn't stop moving until Zak's bloody body was left behind the car. As the scene happened before my eyes, I jolted to a stop, my hands coming up to my mouth, and tears threatening to spill at my eyes. No... no no No No No NO!! The few people around that were there to witness the scene are about as shocked and traumatized as I am right now. A random bystander quickly yells out, "Someone call the ambulance!"

People around quickly start doing so. The driver of the car gets out of their car to see what happened. They, too, look mortified. I immediately start running up to the scene, going up to my brother's hopefully not lifeless body. I kneel down next to him and painfully yell out, "Zak-!!"

I take in his condition. His head is spilling blood, and his pants look stained with blood as well. The car's wheels must've run over his legs. Tears are now starting to spill from my eyes. I gently cradle Zak's face in my hands as I tearfully whisper out, "No... please Zak- you can't be dead. Please don't die..."

I put a finger right under his nose to see if I can feel a breath of air leave. After a second, I do feel a rush of air on my finger, making me let out a shivery sigh of relief. So he's not dead... but his breathing is slow, so who knows for how much longer he'll be alive. The driver comes up to us to give an unnecessary apology. He says, "Oh my god- I'm so so sorry. I didn't even see him-"

I quickly say in a harsh hushed tone, "Shut up."

The man looks at me with wide eyes. Flabbergasted, he says, "What?"

I immediately snap at him for no reason. The anticipation of the situation is killing me. I exclaim, "Shut up! I don't want to hear such things right now! Unless you can help somehow, I don't want to hear it!"

The man takes a moment to think before he says, "Actually- I have a first aid kit in the car, if that helps? But- I don't actually know how to properly give first aid."

My eyes widen slightly at that. I frantically say, "Yes- please, bring me that! I know how to give first aid!"

The man nods and starts running up to his car to get the first aid kit. I may not have any experience in being a doctor yet or have even started my residency, but I did graduate medical school and know how to give first aid. I then turn to look at Quackity, who is standing there shocked, not knowing what to do. I am filled with newfound rage as I yell out, "And you! How could you!? This is all your fault!! Do you seriously have no self-control over your jealousy!? Do you have no shame for your public actions!?"

Quackity snaps back into reality and quickly says, "Melody- I swear I didn't mean for this to happen-"

"NO! Save your apologies for later! I don't wanna hear it right now- I don't even want to look at you right now! Leave! Get out of here if you know what's best for you! If you are truly sorry, you will apologize to my brother like a man! I'll only forgive you if he forgives you since he's the victim here. And if he doesn't make it- oh, you better wish he makes it out of this alive!"

"Melody- I-"

"Didn't you hear me!? I SAID LEAVE! GO AWAY!"

And with that, like the coward he is, Quackity runs away from the scene. The driver then returns with the first aid kit, handing it to me. I do my best to wrap Zak's head with bandages to stop the bleeding. I don't even get to look properly at his damaged legs because the ambulance arrives. That was quick. But I guess it's to be expected. The paramedics quickly come out of the ambulance and get to work at tending to my brother. I get out of their way so that they can work with ease. They immediately notice the bandages on Zak's head, and one of the paramedics gives me a nod of approval at that. It brings me a form of relief. That means I did a good job, right?

They quickly get Zak on a stretcher and bring him into the ambulance to take to a hospital. I ask them which hospital Zak will be taken to. Once they say which hospital, I watch as they close the ambulance doors to take Zak to the hospital. I then notice from a distance that a news station car is getting near. I don't want to deal with reporters right now. I want to be with Zak. The paramedics did ask if I wanted to get in the ambulance with them, and as much as I do want to do that, I need to get my car. So I just told them that I would head to the hospital in my own vehicle.

I quickly run to make my way to my car. With each aching step, I pray and hope that Zak will end up alive and well.
