" Aaron! Its been two days you have been avoiding me! What's wrong?" It was Saturday morning and I was getting ready for work. That's when Aaron called to tell me that he won't be able to pick me up. Again.
" Darling--"
" Stop talking! What's wrong with you? I am was waiting for you in the office and you left without telling me. I had an meeting yesterday and you sent a car for me to get home? You can't come? We go together everyday. Seriously What's up with you?"
I could hear him giggling.
" Are you laughing?"
" Do I dare?"
" Do you think I am joking? Aaron? Its funny?"
" No. Not at all."
" I am serious Aaron. Are you bored of me? "
Before he could say anything, I continued.
" Wait-- Are you cheating on me?"
He started laughing loudly.
" Even if I was why would I tell you huh?"
" It means you are!"
" Nina , I am not cheating on you."
" Why are you avoiding---"
" Would you let me talk?"
" Talk!"
" Listen , it's been on my mind a few days. The thing is --"
" Aaron what is it?"
" Nina --"
" Aaron your tone is making me worried"
" Listen, the reason I have been avoiding you is because--"
" Because?"
He took a long pause. I was so tensed.
" I want to break up with you."
" Aaron--"
" I know it shouldn't be done on a call. But , I have a urgent flight to London. I am leaving right away."
" Aaron you are joking right?"
" No "
" Aaron why? I -I , did I do something? Aaron ? Why?"
" I just can't Nina."
" Why?"
" Nina please don't cry--"
" Aaron you have been avoiding me a lot , are you that bored of me?"
" Nina, I just can't be your boyfriend anymore. "
" Aaron--"
He ended the call. What was that? Why did he-- how?
He called me again and I immediately picked up.
" Aaron what the hell was that? This is how you end us? I didn't expect this from you Aaron. I though you were sensible--"
" Do you hear music?"
" Aaron now is not the time." I shouted at him and then realised something.
I started looking around as I heard violins.
" Aaron? What's that? How do--"
I could hear people talking so I rushed towards my window and looked down. There I saw Aaron, in a proper suit standing below looking at me. I saw people gathering around with their phones and cameras at us. We were still on call.
" Aaron what's-- happening?"
He ended our call right there. I was still clueless. I had zero expression on my face with my eyes wide open.
He got that ladder and oh my god he had decorated that ladder.
Everybody was cheering as he climbed up towards me.
" Aaron what's this--"
" Nina, Darling, it's been a long time since I wanted to do this. I know I have been avoiding you but it was a part of my plan. "
His blue eyes were shining looking at me.
" I no longer want to be your boyfriend because --"
He smiled at me and then continued,
" Because I want to be your husband."
My eyes were already watery.
" I had been scared of love for a long long time. And to be honest I never expected for Me to fall for someone. Ever. But you came into my life and all of a sudden changed it all. I remember myself sitting all by myself in restaurants looking at other people thinking I will never find love but here you are. You changed it. You changed me. When I saw you for the first time, you begged me to be an asshole."
I giggled.
" And now , look at us, you stood by this asshole firmly when the whole world was against me."
" Aaron "
" Nina I love you. I wish to stay like this forever, with you. I want to place my whole life at your feet."
He took a pause and pulled out a box from his pocket.
" Nina , will you marry me?"
Everyone below started shouting and applauding.
" Say Yes! Say Yes!"
But all I could see his face. I couldn't control my emotions. I started jumping, crying and gasping at him.
" oh my god Aaron, YES! A HUNDRED PERCENT YES!"
We kissed through the window as everyone cheered. He came inside my room and we hugged tight. He spun me around laughing and giggling. I was couldn't stop crying. He then put me down and got on one knee.
" Will you marry me darling?"
" I already said yes." He placed the ring on my finger. That was the most beautiful ring I had ever seen in my whole life. Not even in magazines.
He took me towards the window again.
" We are engaged. " He shouted to all the people waiting below. As he said that , everyone started whistling and cheering us. I show offed my ring to them.
" Kiss Kiss Kiss!" They shouted.
He looked at me asking for my permission. I smiled and we kissed.
" Why are you crying now? I am noy breaking up with you baby" He said smiling
" No."
He looked at my crying face.
" What happened?"
" nothing. "
He bought my head to his chest and hugged me by my waist.
" I didn't expect this today."
" I surprised you didn't I?"
" Yes I really thought you --"
" Why would I ever break up with you? It was just a part of a plan."
" I loved it."
We kissed again.
" I should tell my parents right away. They are at home how come they didn't question the noise?"
" Because they know."
" They know?!"
" Yeah, I asked their permission."
" Really?"
" Yeah, I asked my parents as well as yours."
" So everyone knew?"
" Yes."
" oh my god."
I started laughing.
" You are quite sly."
" Now start planning. I am not against your word."
" I love you, Darling."
" I love your too "
