Void [Nightmare X Reader]

The sky was painted in purples and pinks. The guardian sat in her cottage in the forest. She heard  the clicks and clacks from the trousle of bones in the distance. The other guardians' pinpricks gleamed as they saw her sitting, his face flushed with a tinge of purple. Y/n reached out towards Nightmare motioning him to her bountiful garden. They walked in comfortable silence reaching a clearing which had a view of the gorgeous sky and garden.
"Hey."
"Hi"
'How've you been?"
"I've been doing well.What about you?"
"The village thing and waiting for my brother. The usual."
Y/n frowned but Nightmare gave her a smile.
"Coming here helps a lot, you know." He looked at the ground not wanting to make eye contact with the other guardian.
"I'm glad you're comfortable with me." She smiled. Her smile was just as beautiful as the view in front of them to Nightmare's eyes.
"I have a question for you."
"Hit me."
"Do you...how do I say this... do you like me?" Nightmare flushed realizing his words were worded weirdly.
Y/n chuckled, "Nighty, of course I like you. You're awesome to be around. No one gets me like you do." She eyd Nightmare with a genuine sparkle in her eyes. He sighed in relief and took another breath in.

"Y/n, I like you too."

The two were face to face in a destroyed room once filled with flowering plants. The sunlight reflected from the windows in the room. Dirt and leaves were scattered and the earlier table and chairs were thrown across the room. Silence filled in the space between them as they looked quietly at each other.

"Y/n..." Nightmare kicked his feet a but bashfully," we should clean up right? I mean I'll help make things better than how they were before."

"Don't worry, Night the plants are fine, plus Ink could always just fix it." She sighed, dusting off her gown. "Do you want to go somewhere else?"
Y/n hoped,he would say yes. She didn't want to seem weird to him after her near death experience and ascension magic thing.

"Sure." He replied coolly, "I have a place in mind."

They were back in Dreamtale. The Moon had risen, illuminating the vegetation that remained in the part that the both of them had teleported to. Y/n looked at Nightmare," Why are we here?"

"Y'know for old times sake Y/n." He sits on the ground and pats the grass next to him, "Sit down."

She sits next to him and looks at the sky. "The moon and stars are gorgeous tonight. I can see why you would want to come here."

"Yeah I think it sets the tone better than a wrecked room. Again sorry about that." His eyes furrow slightly, "So what was that thing you wanted to tell me?" Nightmare tried to keep his cool while saying that knowing he had something he needed to say as well.

"Ah" Y/n exclaimed, "right that... I was more confident earlier about that."

"What is it?" He noticed that y/n felt and acted slightly more uncomfortable," I think it's better to get it off your chest."

"Can you promise me something Night. Promise me you won't freak out or anything okay."Y/n flailed her hands around trying ti keep calm.

"Okay N/n. Just calm down okay." He said concerned.

Y/n nodded and took a deep breath, "we've known each other for a while. You've always been someone I cared deeply for and I enjoy spending my time with you. Ever since you imprisoned me in your castle with the other sanses I realized that I... I really like you." She blushes intensely but continues with her words as Nightmare stares at her dumbfounded. "This whole thing that Happened made me realize that I should tell you that I am in love with you."

Nightmare bursts out laughing and tries to calm down.
"Hey you promised-"

Nightmare cups Y/n's face planting a kiss on her lips. The universe felt like it was theirs. They took a pause and looked each other in the eyes.

"Y/n, I'm sorry, I laughed cause I feel the exact same way as you. I'm so in love with you I'm me again." He giggled.

"You bonehead, you had me worried." She replied coyly.

The guardians stood up deciding to head back. Hand in hand they walked through the portal back to the star sanses and Y/n's home where their friends waited for their company.

Hiiiii. I'm finally out of my writers block!! Here is my official announcement that we are approaching the end of the book. This is actually really crazy to me because this book is 4 years old. I started writing this mostly as a joke because I had free time in my freshman year of high school . I promised myself I'd take it to the end so I'm currently fulfilling that. As of now I'm on summer break from finishing my first year of university. To everyone who's still here thank you! I'm really grateful for everyone reading despite my many mistakes in writing.
