Unforgettable trip Part1

Chapter 5

The next morning, when Megi opened her eyes, there was no one on the mattress next to her.

'He probably went to the bathroom' She thought and dug out her phone from under the pillow. It was a quarter past six.

"Mmm, how I like waking up so early" She muttered. "But what for...."

After a while, Reiji came out of the bathroom.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked with a slight smile on his face.

"I'd rather sleep longer, but I can't" She replied, stretching as usual.

"What do we have planned today?" He asked.

"Hmm, let's see" Megi looked into her notebook.  Today I'm going to visit the Sento Imperial Palace" She said in a low voice.

"You meant to say WE"  Reiji corrected her.

"Yeah... as for you, I'll put it this way. You can still be with me today, but I would prefer you to sort out the family matters as soon as possible and get it over with"

"Come on, are you already bored of me?" He asked, making puppy eyes. Megi made a gloomy face.

"I'm sorry, but I wasn't interested in you from the beginning"

"Oh please... And I thought I'd tease you a little bit" Said the disappointed boy.

"Sorry, young man, but such texts are aimed at teenagers. I've outgrown it" She replied quickly, turned on her heel and went to the bathroom.

"I like girls like these the most" Reiji said quietly and then started eating a bag of crisps. They left the apartment around eight in the morning and took the same route to the station. When they passed by a certain restaurant, Megi felt that something smelled divine. She pulled the boy's hand.

"Come on, we haven't eaten here yet"

They went inside. Meat in various forms, stuck on sticks, turned out to smell delicious. When the food landed in front of Megi, she clapped her hands with joy.

"Itadakimasu!"

Reiji watched the scene in surprise.

"Seriously? Meat for breakfast and in such quantity?" He said, narrowing his eyebrows.

"Be quiet" She said, swallowing another bite. "I love meat. The time of day is not important" 

After hearing this answer, Reiji started eating his food, so the rest of breakfast passed in silence.

"Aaah.." Megi breathed with relief. "I'm full"

"Come on, we have a train soon" Said the boy. He grabbed the girl's hand and they hurriedly headed towards the station. While waiting for the train with the tickets they had just bought, they stared at the blue sky.

"You know"  Reiji said after a while. "I'll call home today to ask them to come pick me up, so after today's sightseeing we'll part ways"

"Good choice. I hope everything will work out and you won't think about escaping anymore" She said. "So, let's make this time interesting?"

They boarded the train that had just arrived. It was not far from the station to the Palace, so they got there quickly. They took a lot of photos, joked and were fooling around, attracting the attention of other visitors. It didn't bother them at all because they were having a great time and since it was getting late, they decided to go out and eat something.

"You know, I didn't think my escape would turn into something like this. I think it's the first time in a while that I'm having so much fun" Said Reiji, amused by Megi's expression.
