Cherie Currie always wanted to sing for a rock band and explore the world. Although she had no formal training, she helped bring together an entire teenage community with her singing and dancing back home in the San Fernando Valley in California. After months of constant touring with her new band, however, Cherie is a troubled and lonely young girl. She is the lead singer and blonde bombshell of The Runaways rock band, made up of rhythm guitarist Joan Jett, lead guitarist Lita Ford, bass guitarist Jackie Fox, and drummer Sandy West. It is 1977, and The Runaways are constantly on tour with no breaks, stressing Cherie out. She is not used to being so far from her twin sister and her dad back home in the Valley. Furthermore, she is stressed about Lita, who scolds her for her clumsy mistakes while on tour. Cherie remembers the time in the studio yesterday.

Lita: Okay ladies, let's warm up [claps].

Sandy: Yes! Here we go [jumps onto her drum set]!

Lita starts playing her favorite warm up song on her black Hamer Slammer guitar: Deep Purple - Highway Star. Cherie and Joan sing together, with Joan playing her blond Gibson Les Paul guitar and Jackie playing her white Gibson Thunderbird bass guitar.

Cherie and Joan:

Nobody gonna take my car

I'm gonna race it to the ground

Nobody gonna beat my car

It's gonna break the speed of sound

Ooh, it's a killing machine

It's got everything

Like a driving power

Big fat tires and everything

I love it and I need it, I bleed it

Yeah, it's a wild hurricane

Alright, hold tight

I'm a highway star

Nobody gonna take my girl

In gonna keep her to the end

Nobody gonna have my girl

She stays close on every bend

Ooh, she's a killing machine

She got everything

Like a moving mouth

Body control and everything

I love her, I need her, I seed her

Yeah, she turns me on

Alright, hold on tight

I'm a highway star

Cherie jumps on the Hammond organ and performs the insane organ solo.

Nobody gonna take my head I got speed inside my brain

Nobody gonna steal my head

Now that I'm on the road again

Ooh, I'm in heaven again

I've got everything

Like a moving ground

An open road and everything

I love it and I need it, I seed it

Eight cylinders all mine

Alright, hold on tight

I'm a highway star

Lita performs Ritchie Blackmore's insane lead guitar solo perfectly, note by note, inspired by classical music.
