For the rest of the day, Fake Cherie practices with The Runaways at the studio before their show tomorrow. The spell cast upon the members of The Runaways convinces them that Fake Cherie is the real Cherie, and they cannot have her sister (the actual real Cherie) be inside the studio with them while they practice. The girls leave the real Cherie outside the door of the studio. The soundproofing means she cannot hear a thing, so she cannot hear her band performing an act of true rock 'n' roll. Cherie retreats to the bathrooms in the lobby of the studio. She locks herself in a stall and sits on the toilet seat with her knees up and her head down, crying. All of a sudden, someone enters the bathroom. Cherie looks up and leans to see who it is through the crack between the stall and the door. She wipes her tears away and catches the glimpse of black hair and a black leather jacket... It is Joan! Cherie jumps off the toilet seat and opens the stall door.
Joan: Oh, hey.
Cherie: [waves, wipes tears].
Joan: Wait a minute. I know something's off. That one in the studio... Cherie doesn't act like she does. I know it. So are you Cherie or Marie?
Cherie: [points to herself, mouths the pronunciation of Cherie].
Joan: Marie?
Cherie: [shakes head, waves hands].
Joan: Cherie?
Cherie: [smiles, nods].
Joan: You're Cherie? I thought so. The other one wasn't acting like you. No one could see it but I could.
Cherie: [points to the left, points to herself, shakes head].
Joan: So is that really Marie?
Cherie: [shakes head].
Joan: That's not Marie in the studio?
Cherie: [shakes head].
Cherie takes the collar of her Peaches Records & Tapes shirt and pulls it away from her body. She points to her skin. Right under her shoulder is her tattoo of a pair of cherries.
Joan: Oh my God! You really are Cherie.
Cherie: [nods].
Joan: The show must go on?
Cherie: [nods].
Joan: Then you can sing and dance?
Cherie: [nods].
Joan: You will get your voice back? Are you sure?
Cherie: [nods].
Joan: Ugh, I wonder what happened to you, Cherie. If this is a result of your wrongdoing, then I'm gonna be so angry at you.
Cherie: [grabs Joan's arm]
Joan: Well, okay, let's talk about this later. [hops in place] I really need to pee, let go of me!
That night, Cherie crashes in her sleeping bag on the floor, and is the first to fall asleep. While The Runaways are not paying attention, Fake Cherie casts a spell on sleeping Cherie, then they all go to bed. Cherie wakes up early the next morning just before sunrise when she sees Fake Cherie sitting on the floor beside her while the rest of the girls are still sleeping. To Cherie's surprise, she cannot move her body, and her heart races as she panics. She only manages to move enough to rustle the sleeping bag.
Fake Cherie: [laughs quietly] I cast a spell on you so you cannot move! I got your voice and I will do the show! Mwahahaha!
Cherie: [furiously rustles her sleeping bag].
Fake Cherie: I know you must be angry at me. But, I made it very clear in the contract that this would happen. You know, I used to be just like you.
Cherie: [stops rustling and listens].
Fake Cherie: I didn't have a band when I was 17, but I would sing and dance in my bedroom and look at myself in the mirror. And I would cry myself to sleep. Then it was all taken away from me. At least you still have a father at your age! I will do the show like how I should've done when I was young!
Fake Cherie gets up and jumps back in bed. Cherie drifts off to sleep until the next day. The witch's spell makes the girls hurry and leave the hotel room to go to the studio in the morning, believing that Cherie as Marie in the sleeping bag just wants to sleep in. But somehow, the spell doesn't seem to affect Joan as much and she is the last one to leave the hotel room.
Fake Cherie: Come on now, Joan. We don't want to disrupt Marie [walks out the door].
Joan: Okay, uh, Marie... [kneels by Cherie, puts her hand on her shoulder] we're gonna head out to the studio and get ready to go to the show later.
Joan kneels beside Cherie in her black Keds, faded blue bell bottom jeans, black Ramones t-shirt, and black leather jacket with various medals and charms pinned on it. As soon as Joan puts her hand on Cherie's shoulder, the sun comes out of the clouds and brightens up the room. The chrome on Joan's medals and charms on her black leather jacket glisten in the sunlight. Cherie feels a glowing tingling sensation throughout her body. Joan gets up to leave the hotel room, but not before she slips Cherie a folded up note. After Joan leaves, Cherie discovers she is miraculously able to move again. She throws the sleeping bag open and reads the note.
I know Cherie Currie can still do the show because she is that good.
She can change the world like Ziggy Stardust!
Meet the band at the chapel 2 hrs before the show.
