It was a hot friday night and tonight i had soccer practice with my bestfriend, phoebe.
We have been friends for years and years, her parents and family love me they consider me as their own. I know i can always go there when needed. She has an older brother named max, he is a drummer and has a band. Me and Phoebe always listen to them playing in a garage. We both know they wont get big or whatever, but the experience is cool. Ive always thought of him as like an older brother, with him being 22. He still lives with her and their parents. Hes so cool, he treats me like a sibling. Her parents treat me like im their child. I have parents and i love them both so its like a second family. Im a generally shy person so no matter how comfortable i am with someone ill still be shy, and they dont make that hard or anything.
I got a text from phoebe saying that shes coming to pick me up. We are hanging out at her house for a little then going to practice. We always had late practices which i loved. Watching the sunset waiting to start and smoking cigarettes by the bleachers when it was over. Its the best.
I sat by the window on the couch waiting for her car to pull up. Phoebe had just got her license, she just turned sixteen and the second she did she got her license. Im only fifteen, i havent gotten my permit yet.
"You better be careful with Phoebe driving." My mom yelled from the kitchen as she was making dinner. "Shes new to driving, i dont want her getting into a wreck and pulling you into it."
"Mom we're fine. Shes been practicing for like years or whatever."
"You can never be too safe." She smiled and pulled me into a hug as we watched Phoebe turn into my driveway.
"Ill be back late, dont wait up on me. I love you"
"I love you too. BE SAFE!" She yelled as i walked out the door.

I hopped into phoebes car and we hugged and put on some music.
"We have to pick up a pizza on the way, my dad ordered one." Phoebe said
"Okay, we can stop at the corner store too, i need another pack im running out."
"Ok, you need money?"
"Yeahhh.." i laughed "im sorry i swear im trying to get a job."
"Your fineee ill always pay for you." She turned up the music and we went to pick up the pizza. I hated eating before practice so i was probably gonna skip out on that.
We pulled into the parking lot, thankfully both the stores were next to eachother so i went to get cigarettes and phoebe went to get the pizza. I walked in and the yellow flickering lights made me nauseous. This store was so creepy, lots of old men always scouring the isles. I used them to get my cigs. I walked up to this dude maybe in his fifteys, musty with a hunch back.
"Heyyy umm... Do you think you could buy those for me?" I pointed to the cigarettes and pouted my lips.
"Hahaha.... Oh yeah..." He said very creepily. Stuff like that always worked for me with men. I would never ever do anything with them, the though i give them is enough already. He walked up the counter and i watched him purchase them for me. He walked up.
"Hey so you wanna get out of here." He smirked
Ew. "Thank you, but no thank you." I smiled and walked happily back to the car. Phoebe was waiting for me with the pizza box in her hands and she dropped it in my lap.
"How do you always manage to get those dude." She laughed
"I dont know, good skill to have though right." I smiled and she nodded. We drove for about 20 minutes, just listening to music and talking the entire time. We pulled into her driveway, got out and headed into the house. I put my stuff down by the front door and said hi to her parents, then i said hi to max. I tried to push these feelings down, but he has been looking really cute to me lately. I couldnt talk about it to phoebe because duh thats her brother, and he treats me like a sibling. Always goofing around and making jokes with me. Recently that has been settling down lately, he hasnt been doing it much. I dont know why.
