~~~Y/N POV~~~
We were racing down streets as fast as we could, we needed to get out of here, but we were sent to a stop when a huge explosion went off at the edge of the city making the ground shake. The windows to one of the building walls shattered as we looked that the fire that was everywhere.
"We were supposed to take down WCKED not the whole damn city" Gally stated as he looked at the wall in shock.
"Gally come on" Thomas said ushering him to follow.
"Come on we don't have a lot of time" i said grabbing his arm as we followed Thomas.
Gally then took the lead again and we followed him through the streets coming closer to the tunnels.
"Tunnels are right up ahead" gally stated as we followed him.
"Shit" He stated as men came into our vision blocking the exit for us, we hide behind one of the walls before they could see us.
"Stay low! Stay low!" He yelled
Newt started coughing as Thomas crouched to the other side of the wall to see the men and gally poked his head behind the other. More and more of the WCKED men came into view as they crowded around holding guns.
"Damn it" Gally muttered as he looked back at us.
"What are they waiting for?" Minho questioned but was soon interrupted by a tiny explosion behind Thomas and a massive amount of people coming out yelling and screaming.
"get down! get down!" gally said as more explosions came along with more people, some with guns and trucks as they shot at WCKED and WCKED shot at them.
"Stay down! stay down!" Gally yelled as a huge explosion went of on the WCKED people.
"We gota go! We gota go!" Gally yelled
Thomas and Minho grabbed Newt and started running along side me and Gally, we soon made it into another ally way and I grabbed the walkie.
"Bren are you there!" I asked
"I'm here y/n" She said as an explosion went off.
"Were not going to make it" I said as I felt tears come to my eyes.
"Wait, what are you talking about?" She asked, I could tell her voice was shacky.
"Just take the others' and get everyone out while you still can" I said as a tear rolled down my cheek
"No!" I heard her yell
"Brenda" I said
"I'm not leaving you okay!?! So forget it!" She yelled.
I was meet with silence for a little as I looked at Newt who was panting heavily.
"Y/n! don't worry I'm coming to you" I heard her say, Thomas looked at me with furrowed eyebrows.
"What is she talking about" He asked
"I don't know" i said
"What are you talking about?" I asked
"Our rides here!" She laughed as we heard a familiar humming sound from her line.
"Just look for us near the tunnels "She said
"Ok guys we gota go" I said
"Okay come on this way" gally said as we all followed him through all the chaos. We passed people who were screaming.
"Were almost there Newt" I said
"Just leave me" He mumbled as we made our way forward, we didn't go to far before a car was sent flying causing us to scramble the other way.
We then heard a humming sound from above, we looked up to see our ride.
"All right that's them, let's move" I said as I stood but stopped as I heard more coughing and saw Newt puke out some black liquid that is probably blood.
"Just go without me" He said as we looked at him with fear.
Thomas then turned to Minho.
"Minho, you gota run ahead and grab the serum. and get back to us as soon as possible" Thomas ordered as Minho nodded
"Minho go" I said
"He's right. I'll cover" Gally said.
"Thank you, thank you Minho" Newt said softly
"Hey you just hang on, you hear me?" Minho said as Newt nodded.
then both him and Gally headed in the direction of Brenda and the others.
Once we tried getting him up he stopped and stayed on the ground not wanting to move.
"Come on we got to go" Thomas said as Newt grabbed his necklace and ripped it off offering it to Thomas.
"No! No!-" "Come on later-" "Take it-" "Newt later-"
"TAKE IT! please, please Tommy, please" Newt begged as tears pricked my eyes.
"okay" Thomas said softly as he gently took the necklace out of Newts hand.
"All right we need you to give us everything you got, okay?" Thomas asked referring for him to stand up with us.
"okay come one 1, 2, 3," I said as we hoisted him up and put Newts arms around are shoulders.
"We can do this okay" I said to Newt as I kissed his forehead.
"I love you remember" I said gently
" I love you too"
This chapter honestly sucked for how short it is but I'm tired and it is so hot today. We are so close to the ending of this book, hope your excited for what's to happen.
