Vera's POV

So, we were trapped in a horror game, and now we were tackling level 2. With no clue of what could happen. Now we were in quite a life-like forest, and I shivered as a cold breeze swept past me. I looked up and spotted the full-moon casting an eerie light across the green leaves.

"Ok – any thoughts? Vera?" Austin asked, turning to look at me.

"Full moon — were-wolf?" I asked with a shrug.

"Werewolf? So silver right?"

"What silver?" I asked. "We've got nothing, but in games, devs could do whatever they want really, so normal bullets should work — just maybe a lot of it."

"Well, let's not stick around in one place, "Austin said, motioning for us to follow him.

"So, technically this is the second level, which means it should be easier right?' Rey asked and glanced at me.

"It makes sense," I said. "Technically, the — stickman isn't exactly the hardest thing around in the back rooms either."

"What is?" Blake asked.

"Well — um, a teeth chomper thing —"

"A teeth chomper thing?" Austin frowned.

"It's got a lot of teeth, I never found out the name," I said.

"You play a lot of games?"

"It's kind of my job," I whispered. "I'm a streamer."

"No way, that's so cool," Rey said.

I turned to look at him and he smiled. "You think?"

"Yeah, it's cool, it takes an insane amount of work I can imagine –"

"You have no idea," I muttered. "What do you do?"

"I'm actually studying stuff — finance stuff, yeah."

"It's a good job choice, lots of security," Austin said.

"Never mind boring." Blake muttered.

"Hey, buddy, chill with the insults, ok? We've talked about this," Austin said.

"Blake's not lying though, it's true though, finances – not a very interesting career, but I really want to pop the question to my girlfriend so –"

"Aww, that's sweet," I said.

"Woah, sh," Austin motioned. He pushed through the branches and into a small clearing. I frowned as I spotted a small cabin in the woods. It had a porch and a single door.

Austin stared at me.

"Could either be a trap, or shelter," I said.

"Well, if a werewolf is a possibility, it won't hurt to look," Austin said.

We all slowly approached the cabin, and Austin walked to the door. He motioned for us to stay behind as he wrapped his hand around the door handle. He pulled it open, then froze, lifting his hands in the air.

I spotted another man sitting in a chair, holding a shotgun. He looked at Austin then at us. He had short cropped hair and a cute face, with dark green eyes.

"Well, I'll be damned —" he said. "I'm not the only one who survived the backrooms..."

He lowered the shotgun. "Welcome, folks! You might want to step inside quickly, there's a werewolf about."

Austin stared at the man, looking him up and down.

"Ah, thanks man," Rey stepped past Austin and inside of the house.
