The door knob moved, but that was it. I swallowed and turned to look back at the camera. The creature had let go of the doorknob, then it slowly started to move.

"Can I just say how glad I am that you locked that door?"

"Yeah —" I croaked. "Yeah, no, me too."

"Ok, so it's moving," Austin said as he clicked on the mouse. "We've done everything we needed to. So technically, we could exit this floor and move on to the next one, right?"

"Right," I said.

"So we wait for it to reach the furthest point, and then we run. There's no good hiding spots around–"
"Yeah, and this doesn't exactly look like the kind of thing you play hide and seek with," I whispered.

Austin followed the creature with the camera. It was walking further and further away.

"Unlock the door and get ready."

I walked to the door and unlocked it. However, I was ready to lock it at any second or any moment that I needed to. I stared at the screen then at Austin, and heard him grunt a little.

"Let's go ..."

Austin turned and sprinted towards the door. I swung it open and closed it behind us, then ran after Austin. He turned left down the corridor towards the elevator when a screech echoed through the halls.

I pushed myself to run faster than we both headed towards the elevator. He jumped on and turned around just as I climbed. I turned to look just as Austin smashed the button to see the figure storming towards us.

The elevator slammed close, cutting off the creature from reaching us just in time.

"That thing has a name?" Austin asked as he pressed on the next floor.

"That thing was right behind me and you said nothing!?"

"Panic does nothing but kill you," Austin said.

I raised my brows. "But adrenaline saves lives!"

"Depends on the situation, and trust me, you were running fast enough," Austin said, taking a step back. I noticed some blood still dripping from his hand.

"You're too wounded to argue with," I muttered.

"Glad to know my crushed hand is worth a reduction in yapping."

"Excuse you," I snapped. "With that attitude, you're going to get more than a yapping."

"Look forward to that."

"You're unbelievable."

I took a deep breath in and out, trying to calm down my heart that was pounding in my chest.

Austin gave a short chuckle. "Alright, you think that thing's going to be roaming as we shut off lights and close doors?"

"I think we have a time limit to complete it before it reaches our floor," I said, just as the doors started to open. "And I can understand why the elevators close so fast."

"Yeah," Austin muttered as I stepped out and started walking. I could hear Austin's footsteps behind me. It was the same design, only with slight changes to it. We both didn't waste time as we sprinted, opened doors, shut off the lights, and closed them. And within a few minutes, we were back into the camera room, and I locked the door.

"This feels too much like de ja vou," Austin muttered. I slowly clicked on the mouse and I switched between different views. However, there was no one in sight. I glanced at Austin.

"It might not be there." I muttered.

"This is the psychological part?"

"Yeah," I kept changing monitors, but there was nothing there. No monster was in sight. But that didn't quell the uneasy feeling in my body.
