"Ok, here are those drinks and Mozzarella Sticks for you both," Ian said while he placed the stuff on the table in front of us. "Were we needing a few more minutes with the menus, or are we ready to order?" He stuffed the tray underneath his arm while he took his notepad out of his pocket.
"We are ready to order," I said with a quick nod and looked at my brother with a raised eyebrow in question. "Right?" I asked and cocked my head to the side while I stared at him with a small smirk on my face.
My brother rolled his eyes and scowled while he leaned back in his seat. "Yes, Ms. Kent, I am ready to order," he said before he gestured for me to order what I wanted. "Go ahead and tell him what you want."
I shook my head with a small smile on my face and looked at Ian. "Can I get the six ounce Top Sirloin, cooked medium, with mashed potatoes and green beans please?" I asked with the menu closed in front of me.
"You may," he said and nodded while he wrote it down. "Would you like a side salad to go with it?" he asked and looked at me after he finished writing that down.
"N-"
"Two, please," Robbie said, interrupting me. He flashed me an innocent smile when I sent an annoyed look his way before he looked at the menu so that he wouldn't have to see the scowl on my face.
"Two side salads, Yes Sir," Ian said and nodded while he wrote it down. "And what else would you like?" He looked at Ian with a small smile on his face.
"Can I have the oysters, please?" Robbie asked while he read off the menu. "And can I get an order of broccoli to go with it please?"
"Yes, Sir," Ian said and wrote that down before he cleared his throat. "Let me go ahead and take those menus from you before I put this in so that we can get it started, a-"
"Before you do, do you mind if I write a little note under Mr. Kent's meal order?" I asked, interrupting him. I smiled apologetically when Ian gave me a weird look but didn't say a word.
"Oh, here we go," Robbie grumbled playfully and folded his arms across his chest with a small scowl on his face, but neither of us paid him any heed.
I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat, and my cheeks turned red. "Mr. Cromwell is a close family friend of ours, and if he sees this order, then he might send you back over to us to get Mr. Kent's actual order..."
"He w-"
I waved my brother off, silently interrupting him, and he rolled his eyes and scowled. "Robbie and I are having a bet because I said that he wouldn't finish a plate of oysters, and he is saying that he can. I don't want Mr. Cromwell to get mad at you because of this or for him to take the oysters off the bill."
Ian looked at Robbie before he looked at me, amused and nervous, and I had a feeling that he didn't know if I was telling the truth or not. "And does Mr. Cromwell know his regular order?" he asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "Or would you like me to write something down if Mr. Kent doesn't like oysters so that he can get it prepared?"
"Mr. Cromwell knows Robbie's usual order," I said before I looked at Robbie while I raised an eyebrow in question, and I couldn't help but smile at the other male. "Or are you going to change it and get something else?"
Robbie shook his head, looking grumpy, and I couldn't help but bite my lip to make sure I didn't laugh at his antics. "No," he said and pouted while he folded his arms across his chest. "I am not going to get something different if I don't eat oysters."
I looked at Ian and smiled. "Then you don't need to write anything down after that, but is it ok if I write a note for him, please?" I cocked my head and looked at the waiter, silently praying for him to believe me so that I could get it done.
