Introduction to the Story

Kelsie's POV:

Matt started training at Monster Factory for a career in professional wrestling in 2014 and made his actual debut in February 2015. The training facility was quite a distance from us, about a 4 or 5-hour drive. Despite the distance, he would always drive back to check on me and bring me to the shows whenever I could come. I met his friends Punisher Martinez, Marc Cruz, QT Marshall, and Cody Vance through him. Punisher, who preferred to be called Damian, was incredibly attractive, but I had a terrible boyfriend then. My brother advised me to stay clear of Damian, even though he became a good friend since I always watched my brother and him train before the shows started. It was amazing to see what they did, and I wanted to join them, but I was a bit scared and there weren't many girls wrestling then. Matt quickly made a name for himself. The Readers of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recognized him as the Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Wrestler of the Year in 2016. Between 2015 and 2017, he worked on the independent circuits, wrestling for various promotions. 

In 2018, Matt tried out for WWE's NXT developmental program. During their time at Monster Factory, Matt and Damian trained me as well. I trained for two years (2015-2017), but had to stop because my parents deemed it too dangerous and threatened to kick me out of the house since I was still in high school. Despite stopping formal training, I continued to absorb as much as I could by attending my brother's and his friends' training sessions. I also tried out for WWE alongside my brother. While he got in, I was denied because they didn't think I looked TV-ready, despite acknowledging my skill with the moves. That rejection crushed me. The reason I gained weight was due to the trauma from my four-year relationship with my ex-boyfriend. He started off as the sweetest guy but changed drastically, making me fear for my life. When I finally escaped with my brother's help, I was left with so much trauma that I turned to stress eating. I lost motivation to work out, feeling defeated by my past. My brother, hearing about WWE not signing me, asked if I could be on the road with him, and they accepted. This gave me a new sense of purpose and a chance to stay connected to the world of wrestling.

We moved to Orlando, Florida to be near where NXT was being taped. My best friend Kaylie came to Orlando to visit us and Matt allowed her to come along to the Performance Center. I drove to there and parked the car. It's December 5,2018, We just arrived at the PC and went in. We met some of the superstars that we there and then I saw my eyes on a guy that looks familiar, this time he was known as Punishment Martinez. "Damn Kelsie you like him? Your staring at him as he is making our way holy shit wake up kels" she says nudging me to get out of my daydream. "Hey Kels and Matt" he says as he walks up to us and hugs us. We hugged him back and he just looks at me in my eyes and then winks. "Oh who is this?" he says looking at Kaylie. I spoke up and said, "She's my bestfriend and her name is Kaylie". He then bring out his hand to shake hers and says, "Hi Kaylie, I'm Damian. Nice to meet you". She shakes his hand back and says, "likewise". He went back to winking at me and Kaylie and I went to sit down at the bench to watch them go into the ring to train. "What was that bro? Don't hit on my sister" Matt spoke up causing him to move back with his arms out. "Take...it. easy bro" he says chuckling. They got into the ring and started to train. Kaylie and I was just sitting at on of the benches watching them. "Hey are you lost?" Pete says to me as he sat down next to us. "Uh no I'm just watching my brother and his friend" I said back looking at him and then back to the ring. "Get lost bozo" Kaylie spoke up and Pete ignores her comment and continues to speak, "Your very beautiful, wanna get out of here and go on a date with me?". I look at him shocked and so does Kaylie. I said "no thanks I'm good". He huffs and gets up walking away. Punishment got out of the ring and towards me "Are you okay Kels?" he says as he is looking around me to see if I'm hurt physically.
