Damian's POV
We managed to fly home from Cleveland to Miami in the wee hours of the morning. We got to Kelsie's house and were fast asleep well that until I got woken abruptly by the alarm I had set on my phone at 8 am, I groaned loudly. So the morning after SummerSlam was not so great, haha. The first rays of sunlight filtered through the curtains as I gently stirred Kelsie awake. "Morning, mi vida," I whispered, kissing her forehead. She smiled sleepily, "Morning." We lay there for a moment, savoring the quiet before the day's chaos began. Eventually, we got up, and while Kelsie started preparing breakfast, I went to check on Skyla. Skyla was still snuggled under her blankets, her little face flushed. I gently woke her up, "Hey, sweetie. How are you feeling?". She groaned softly, "Not so good, Daddy". "Alright, let's get you some breakfast and then to the doctor," I said, scooping her up and carrying her to the kitchen. Kelsie had outdone herself with a spread of eggs, toast, and fresh fruit. "You spoil us," I teased, setting Skyla down at the table. "Only the best for my family," she replied with a grin.
After breakfast, we headed to the gym. Kelsie and I alternated between our workout routines and keeping an eye on Skyla, who was resting on a bench nearby. We had to stay in top shape, especially with the demanding schedule ahead. Post-gym, we swung by the grocery store. Skyla sat in the cart, her little hands clutching a stuffed bunny. We loaded up on essentials, making sure to stock up on Skyla's favorite snacks to keep her spirits up. The doctor's visit confirmed our suspicions: Skyla had a cold. We called Matt, the doting uncle, who insisted on taking her to his place so he could look after her while we were on the road. So we drove Skyla to Matt's house in Orlando, we were met with him since he was waiting outside for her. "Hey Sky Sky," he says hugging her and then hugging Kelsie and I. "You focus on your schedules. I've got Skyla," he reassured us. Skyla, though a bit groggy, perked up at the mention of spending time with her Uncle Matt. "Can we watch movies?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "Of course, princess," Matt replied, ruffling her hair gently. I helped Matt bring in Skyla's overnight bag, her favorite snacks we bought, and her stuffed animals she wanted to bring. I gave her a kiss and a hug goodbye, and so did Kelsie. We didn't want to leave our poor girl but we have work the next day.
Kelsie's POV
Dropping Skyla off with Matt was harder than I thought. Even though I knew she was in good hands, leaving our little girl when she wasn't feeling well tugged at my heart. But we had a packed schedule, and I had to stay focused. We met up with some friends for lunch. It was nice to unwind and catch up, even if the conversation inevitably circled back to wrestling. Everyone was buzzing about my upcoming match. Adam had added a stipulation – it was now a street fight. So anything goes of course... "Street fight, huh?" Rhea said, a twinkle in her eye. "We need to get you ready." Shotzi said.
We spent the afternoon training harder than ever. Rhea and Shotzi pushed me to my limits, helping me sharpen my skills and tactics. "You've got this," Rhea said confidently. "Just remember, anything goes," Shotzi added. But it wasn't just Rhea and Shotzi who lent their support. Kayden, Seth, and Jey also joined in, each offering their own unique training tips and encouragement. Kayden focused on my agility and speed, Seth helped me refine my strikes and holds, and Jey shared his insights on street fight strategies, drawing from his own experiences in the ring.
