Author's POV:
The next day was the second last day of their staycation. Manvi and Aayan returned from their date in the morning, and as promised, Reyansh did not mention anything about last night to them. They all stayed at home for the day.
Next Day
After enjoying the two-week staycation, it was time for the last spot. Everyone was excited and was fully prepared to witness the sunrise from the peak of Kalsubai. They left the farmhouse early, and after a trek of 4 hours, they finally reached the peak.
Amaira's POV:
Reaching the peak, it was almost the time of sunrise. We all sat beside each other near the edge: Aayan, Manvi, me, and Reyansh. We all sat in order.
The rising sun brought a ray of hope, an indication of a new day and the beginning of new things. At that moment, the only thought I had was that if the time could stop and we could all stay here beside each other, providing each other with warmth, comfort, and love.
Watching the sunrise with my best friends was on my bucket list, and it's been completed today. We all sat there, our eyes on the serene beauty of nature from the peak.
Thinking about the fun we had in these two weeks that started with seating in the front seat because of Aayan to seating beside Reyansh watching the sunrise, it all felt like a dream. All I am going to take with me from this trip is happiness and memories of us enjoying ourselves with each other.
With the happiness and joyous feelings, there was a hint of sadness that lingered in my mind, thinking about the end of my staycation. I looked to my right to see Reyansh already looking at me, but I didn't avert my gaze this time.
We were staring into each other's eyes, as if we were sharing many unspoken words through our eye contact—the words we couldn't tell each other. I could see sparkle in his eyes; there were feelings that I couldn't decipher.
Once, a guy who was a complete stranger, but I admired him at first glance, was sitting beside me. It was like a complete dream. We smiled at each other, his eyes speaking 1,000 languages.
After watching the sunrise and spending time together, we all trekked down and went to the farmhouse. After packing everything up, it was time for us to leave. Taking a quick glance at all the corners of the farmhouse, from the seating arrangement on the lawn to the swimming pool at the backside, we finally bid goodbye to the farmhouse and settled in our cars at around 4:00 p.m.
It took us around 3 hours to reach near Aayans house. Aayan and Manvi both descended the car, and it was decided that Aayan would drop Manvi. After bidding goodbye to Aayan and Manvi, I settled in the front seat, and Reyansh drove me towards my house.
Parking the car near the house, we both came out of the car. Standing near the car bonnet, backfacing the car, both of us remained silent. It was now my time to say goodbye.
I looked at Reyansh, who was looking at the moon, and I smiled, looking at his innocent face. "Okay, then I'll go inside. I had a great time with you," I said, breaking the silence blinking off my tears. I am going to miss him definitely; he just nodded his head without looking at me and said, "Yeah."
I wanted to hug him so bad, but I couldn't. My shy nature towards him didn't allow me to. As I turned around to leave, he called me, and when I turned back, he embraced me in a hug—the hug I needed the most. I knew I would always meet Aayan and Manvi, but about Reyansh, I was not sure if maybe we were only meant to have this time together.
I was not sure if the feelings I have for him are mutual or not, and at that moment, I hugged him, his embrace providing me with the warmth I needed most. After a friendly hug, he finally looked at me and asked for my phone number. In these 2 weeks, we never shared phone numbers, Instagram accounts, or anything; we were so into enjoying the time we got. After sharing the number, I finally bid goodbye to him.
"Keep in touch; I hope to see you soon," he said as I turned to return inside my house, his words ringing in my head and my heart beating fast. With that, I entered my house, all happy.
