Chapter 7 - [What Is That?!]

Hi guys 👋 One more chapter before bed. I have work tomorrow but I'll try continue after.

(The nap room)

Catnap watched over the children, every so often checking the clock ticking away on the wall.

Their nap start at noon and last until three. So far he hadn't heard a cheap, they were all sleeping soundly.

Catnap spent some time cleaning himself, the time was passing quite quickly. There wasn't long left until 3pm.

...

*Tap tap*

Catnap flinched and scanned the room. They were all still asleep.

Catnap: Huh? What was that.

*Tap tap tap*

Catnaps pov:
Where is that coming from?

*Tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap*

Catnap:
It sounds like it's on the ceiling with me, not on the floor with the kids.

He glanced around the room until his eyes found a vent.

Catnap: What the heck is that?!

There was a hand ominously waving at him. Not a normal hand, it's fingers were far too long.. Spindaly like a spider.

Seemed it was made from sharp needles and metal wires.

Unknown: "Get up!"

Catnaps fur stood on on end and he hissed, waking a few of the children.

Paul: "Catnap is that you?"

Lily: "Ahhh! What's happening?"

Catnap glanced down at the children waking up one by one.

His heart was racing, when he looked back over to the vent the creature was gone.

Catnap jumped down and started to comfort the kids. They huddled into him.

Josh: "Catnap what's going on?!"

Catnap: "Shh.. It's.. Alright.."

Beth: "Catnap! You found your voice!"

"Hurray!!! Catnap found his voice!!" They cheered. The kids all hugged him, stroked him celebrating.

*Door opens*

Miss Delight: "Okay kids, wakey shakey!"

She turned on the main light.

Dogday rushed in to see Catnap siting in the middle of the room surrounded by the orphans.

They were all cuddling him.

Danny: "Dogday!! Miss Delight!! Catnap talked! He found his voice!"

Dogday turned to Catnap who shrugged his shoulders.

Catnap wanted nothing more then to talk to Dogday about the creature in the vent. The voice.

He would have to wait until later.

Dogday: "Well kids, heres the thing. Catnap may have found his voice but he can't use it a lot. Remember when I said he was shy?"

The kids all nodded and looked over to Catnap feeling a little sorry for him.
