I had never actually witnessed Saff fight, but it was clear that Caroline was not winning this one. The punch to the mouth should have been the end but she just spat the blood welling in her mouth on the floor and took another swing. This time Saff took the girls feet out and as she fell towards the floor grabbed her head slamming it into her knee.
"I told you that you should stop" Saff was calm almost too calm, like this wasn't any effort to her at all. It was sending shivers down my spine so the fact this girl wasn't backing off was insane.
"We should probably stop this" Theo whispered in my ear.
"Dawn?" I turned to face the small brunette "I thought you said there was rules" Her face was pale, like something had sucked all the life out of her.
"There is" she choked "But neither of them have broken them yet" How could neither of them have broken any of the rules Carolines face was a bloody mess.
"Dawn what are the rules" Theo spoke,
"There's only one" she sounded like she had a bubble in her throat.
"and what is that rule?" I asked but I had already guessed.
"Don't kill your opponent" Her face dropped into her hands, I wasn't sure if this was out of concern or out of guilt for not saying earlier.

I stood up and went to walk forwards, but the look Saff shot me made me stop in my stride. Her eyes, the spark had gone, and they were almost hollow. I couldn't move I was torn between horror and the mesmerising colour of her eyes; I had never seen her like this, and I was starting to think that was a good thing. I was built for issuing orders not following them out, but her, she was raised to do ungodly things in the name of my protection.
"Saff?" I managed to murmur, once I spoke the spark flickered in her eyes. But as her attention was turned to me Caroline used it as a chance to get one over on her "Watch out" I screamed. Her head snapped back to her opponent and as the girl's fist was a hair away from her face she moved, it all seemed to happen in slow motion. Carolines fist narrowly scrapped her cheek giving her the chance to grab her arm. Before I had time to process what was happening Saff had the girl in a chokehold and Caroline was thrashing about trying to breathe.

The tall man moved towards the girls which broke me from my trance like state and I ran over to them. He placed his hand on Saff's shoulder.
"We have one rule miss" His voice like gravel to my ears "We aren't allowed to Kill" Saff looked at him but didn't release the squirming mess locked into her grip. The man looked to me as I dropped down next to them.
"Oh er Saff" she looked at me eyes still hollow "Let go?" I put my hand on her arm, and she realised her grip allowing the girl to crawl away breathing franticly.
"She tried to kill me" Caroline screamed, the man moved to her and started to look at the red marks around her throat. Saff's eyes didn't leave mine as we sat on the floor.
"Did I do good?" She whispered as the spark slowly came back to her lifeless eyes.
"Yes you did," I pulled her into my arms as Theo and Dawn ran over. We were all in a messy pile of a hug when we were approached by the Man.
"It's nice to see you are all close" he smiled.
"Urm yeah we are" I pulled away from the group hug leaving Theo and Dawn to pull Saff to her feet.
"She will probably be the top of this years class" he chuckled looking back towards Caroline "She just needs to learn when to let the prey go" I smiled back at him.
"She's not the best at listening to orders" I joked gaining a poke in the ribs from behind me.
"She takes them fine from you" The man was looking me up and down.
"That's because technically he's my boss not you" Saff stepped forward.
"I'm not sure anyone can be the boss of a wild animal" the man curled his lips and the word animal left his mouth.
"I don't know who you think you're calling an animal" she spat back at him,
"Well seeing as you tried to kill my girlfriend, I think the answer is obvious" he didn't seem all that concerned about her until he was insulted "If it wasn't for your boyfriend here I'd be alone"
"Whatever" she gave him a death glare and stormed out of the room. Theo yanked me towards the door, and we followed behind her.
"He called me her boyfriend" I turned to Theo who was trying to hide his excitement.
"What? Oh yeah just forget about it" he was so giddy, I'd seen him excited before but this was a different level.
"What is up with you?" Dawn tapped him.
"Did you not just see what I saw?" He was almost vibrating as he walked.
"Yeah, and it was..." Theo cut her off
"Amazing, I've never got to see her fight before" The fact that he had never seen his sister fight before was odd, I always use to think they trained together. He always spoke about her like they spent every waking moment together.
"What did you think?" They turned to me waiting expectantly
"It was something for sure but..." I let my thought trail off, neither of them had heard what I did, and I decided that it was a good thing.
"But what?" Theo whined, I just shot him a look telling him to drop it.

We all just followed Saff in silence for a while, it seemed like we all needed it after that. The first thought I had when I came here kept bubbling back into my mind. What was this place?
