"Our father wouldn't go against yours" A voice loudly came from behind us. We had decided to get away from prying eyes and ears but I guess that was impossible here.
"Holy shit" Theo had bolted to his feet, in a crude attempt to get between me and the voice.
"See this is why she's called the Morelli Dusk" I laughed watching the standoff between Theo and his sister.
"I don't think she's supposed to be able to sneak up on you guys" Dawn giggles appearing behind Saff. She was right of course but at least being able to sneak up on your own means those who aren't aware of her methods stand no chance.
"Why do you think our father has gone against yours?" She was stood on the muddy path that led back towards the manor with her arms crossed over her chest.
"I don't, I just know things aren't adding up here" She really did have some kind of distain towards me but the fact she thought I was doubting the partnership was not good.
"Well, what isn't adding up?" She still had her guard up and if what I think was happening is happening, I needed her on my side.
"Do you know why you've been separated from us?" all I got from her was a raised eyebrow. I knew from hearing Theo and his father talk that she held things close to her belt, but this was more than that."Can I see your schedule?" I held my hand out to her.
"I don't have it yet" She took a step back "Do you have yours?" I looked to Theo and even he looked confused.
"of course we have ours." Theo pulled his out from his pocket and move to hand it to her.
"Okay well you're probably just paranoid" she spoke as she flicked through the file "but you are right we don't have any of the same courses"
"My father told me I was being sent here to strengthen the working bond with me and my seconds in command" I moved closer to Saff and Theo "and we both know my father doesn't make mistakes in orders"Saff looked to Theo and uncrossed her arms.
"Well Father did tell me I was coming to work with you" Theo nodded at his sisters' words.
"Yeah, he mentioned to me that we would be working closely with each other here" at least they were now seeing what I was piecing together "But it could just be a mistake mate" he turned to face me but the look in his eye spoke louder then his words."Well let's get some food and then we can go speak to the people in reception about it" Dawn piped up. She had been so quiet I almost forgot she was here. I was starting to understand why her, and Saff got along. They are both eerily silent as a baseline.
"Okay that sounds like a good idea," Theo chimed in
"You would" Saff smirked, "Lets not make it seem like we know there is an issue though" She turned to me "You know in case you're right".Dawn led us all towards the dinner hall, it was a large room off of the main entrance. The room had 4 long tables three running horizontally down the room and then one running vertically at the far end.
"Who are they?" Saff pointed at the people sat at the far table.
"Well the lady with the short blonde hair is Caroline, she was here last year and was offered a job on her last day" Dawn really did seem to know everyone.
"Yeah, we met her" I chimed in, "She seems well..." I trailed off not knowing how to describe the woman
"Fake?" Dawn smiled, I snorted "Yeah you'll get that a lot with the staff here"
"What about the three men" Theo asked.
"Well the oldest of the three is the governor himself, I believe you guys went into his study earlier" she cocked an eyebrow at Theo who just nodded "The black hair one is Darrius, you also met him. He's the governors oldest son, he runs the combat situation class"
"And the little brown haired twirp is Darren, we met him earlier in the library, I think I hurt his feelings" Saff scoffed. As Dawn was filling us in Caroline had noticed us come in and was making her way over to us.
